1. Will she think this is awkward. Yes.

Back when I was in an office, one of my office-mates was well known as the "Office Dater." He'd basically only date women who worked at the company, and he was very good at it. I'll share the tips I learned from him to effectively date at the workplace...

1. Be friendly. SUPER friendly. This guy was always incredibly niceto everyone - especially the women. He'd greet every woman he saw inthe hallway, he'd always ask people if they needed help with anythingor if he could do anything to make their jobs easier. The key here isno matter if you're attracted to the woman or not, you be friendly tothem, because often times in the office, older women have daughters oryounger friends they just love to play matchmaker with!

2. Be interested in them. My friend would always ask about theirlives outside of work. How their kids were doing, how their parentswere, if they were any closer to that new car they want, or where theywere planning to go on vacation. He would just be really fascinatedwith what their lives were like, and he would encourage their passions("You should totally take an art class, you're gifted!" etc.).

3. Have interesting stuff to talk about. One of the things my friendalways did when he got into the office in the morning was check thenews and see if there were any "odd" news stories out there. Then he'dwalk up to people and bring it up in conversation. Like "Did you hearabout this woman who gave birth to 8 kids at once?" Stuff like that.
It always engaged the people he was talking to. The thing that makes the Art Of The Pickup stand out from other similar DVD sets is that itвЂ™s designed more like an interactive course on how to meet women than a simple recorded lecture, like you might get with other DVD courses.

This format works very well in an instructional sense, because it breaks down the different phases of pickup in an easy to follow way, and allows for quick reference of the different tactics available.

Watching Art Of The Pickup, it was hard not to think of some of the sexeducation videos I used to be forced to watch in High School.

Because the videos are meant to be educational rather thanвЂњdocumentary,вЂќ the scenarios in the video are staged with actors ratherthan candidly caught.

While this does a good job of actually demonstrating the techniquesdiscussed, it makes the tactics seem forced and вЂњfakeyвЂќ while watchingвЂ“ in part due to the substandard acting involved in the vignettes(hence the вЂњcheesyвЂќ sex-ed video feel).

Though this can make the examples in the video hard to watch at times,I donвЂ™t feel that it takes away from the validity of the tactics beingdiscussed. Some of these tactics include:

The worst part of the video series, at least in my opinion, is thenarrator вЂ“ a slick looking pick up guy (or actor?) who narrates themethods being talked about. The guyвЂ™s voice is deep and I can see whyhe was picked to do voice over, but at the same time it drips with akind-of sleaziness that is more than a little off-putting.

In fact, itвЂ™s almost obvious that the narrator is almost portraying atype of вЂњpick upвЂќ guy, rather that coming across as genuine.

Though this can be distracting, the production of the DVD set more thanmakes up for it. This isnвЂ™t some fly-by-night operation where guys arevideotaping tactics on a 1985 camcorder in someoneвЂ™s basement. Theseries was shot on digital video, with professional lighting, graphics,and editing. It really is a quality production.

While the acting is cheesy, the example videos are well made and quiteexplanatory, with freeze frames and narration intercut to discuss whatis occurring in the vignettes.

The course breaks down as follows:

DVD 1 is the primary disk in the series. It contains the foundationsof the course, which is are the underlying principles, understandings,and psychology behind the tactics.

After that, there are 2 more sections to the disk, broken up byencounter (in this case, the first time you meet the girl, and thefollow up). In the 1st encounter segments, youвЂ™re shown how toapproach a woman and get her contact information. In the 2nd encountersegments, youвЂ™re shown how to follow up the initial encounter, get adate, generate attraction, and finally seduce her.

The second DVD in the set is an вЂњExtraвЂќ DVD, divided into twosections. The first section has to do with Interviews of other pick upartists. The experts interviewed are the two guys who runfastseduction.com вЂ“ Jay and Ray, and Will the Dating Coach (of DoubleYour Dating fame).

This is my favorite part of the course because itвЂ™s not scripted, andyou get to hear the guys talk candidly about their views andexperiences. Though these experts arenвЂ™t on the level as someone like,Neil Strauss, for instance, they still have some good things to share.

The second feature on the second disk is a series of affirmationsdesigned to help re-enforce the teachings of the course. Theaffirmations are audio only, though, and have no video features that goalong with them.

Now, IвЂ™m not a big fan of affirmations, because I feel mostaffirmations are a series of mental masturbation meant to make youвЂњthinkвЂќ youвЂ™re actually accomplishing something as opposed to gettingyou to take action. The worst part of the video series, at least in my opinion, is thenarrator – a slick looking pick up guy (or actor?) who narrates themethods being talked about. The guy’s voice is deep and I can see whyhe was picked to do voice over, but at the same time it drips with akind-of sleaziness that is more than a little off-putting.

In fact, it’s almost obvious that the narrator is almost portraying atype of “pick up” guy, rather that coming across as genuine.

Though this can be distracting, the production of the DVD set more thanmakes up for it. This isn’t some fly-by-night operation where guys arevideotaping tactics on a 1985 camcorder in someone’s basement. Theseries was shot on digital video, with professional lighting, graphics,and editing. It really is a quality production.

While the acting is cheesy, the example videos are well made and quiteexplanatory, with freeze frames and narration intercut to discuss whatis occurring in the vignettes.

The course breaks down as follows:

DVD 1 is the primary disk in the series. It contains the foundationsof the course, which is are the underlying principles, understandings,and psychology behind the tactics.

After that, there are 2 more sections to the disk, broken up byencounter (in this case, the first time you meet the girl, and thefollow up). In the 1st encounter segments, you’re shown how toapproach a woman and get her contact information. In the 2nd encountersegments, you’re shown how to follow up the initial encounter, get adate, generate attraction, and finally seduce her.

The second DVD in the set is an “Extra” DVD, divided into twosections. The first section has to do with Interviews of other pick upartists. The experts interviewed are the two guys who runfastseduction.com – Jay and Ray, and Will the Dating Coach (of DoubleYour Dating fame).

This is my favorite part of the course because it’s not scripted, andyou get to hear the guys talk candidly about their views andexperiences. Though these experts aren’t on the level as someone like,Neil Strauss, for instance, they still have some good things to share.

Now, I’m not a big fan of affirmations, because I feel mostaffirmations are a series of mental masturbation meant to make you“think” you’re actually accomplishing something as opposed to gettingyou to take action.
