The Porn Myth – Naomi Wolf Is An Idiot…
August 1, 2007 by Thundercat
I recently came upon an article on the New York Magazine’s website written by a woman named Naomi Wolf that examines the effect that widespread internet porn is having on the men and women of this generation.
For all it’s faults, it’s actually a pretty interesting article. However, I strongly disagree with a lot of Naomi’s conclusions about the effects of pornography on male/female relationships.
First of all, the "Porn Myth" is an idea created by feminist Andrea Dworkin, who was (and I guess still is) an anti-porn crusader from the 80s who claimed that…
Naomi Wolf writes:
If we did not limit pornography, she argued—before Internet technology
made that prospect a technical impossibility—most men would come to
objectify women as they objectified porn stars, and treat them
accordingly. In a kind of domino theory, she predicted, rape and other
kinds of sexual mayhem would surely follow.
Well, according to Naomi, this is the great "Porn Myth," because even though pornography is now so pervasive and readily available, men haven’t turned into sex-craved beasts who run around raping every woman they see.
But Naomi’s article suggests that even though this isn’t the case, the level of psychological and emotional harm porn is doing to the new generation of men and women coming up through the ranks is wreaking havoc on the health of relationships and sexuality in general.

Ross Jeffries Is Back… With A Vengeance!

Ah MINE99, how I’ve missed your insane, hypocritical rants.
So things have been extremely quiet on the Ross Jeffries front, ever since his business nearly imploded and he broke up with his longtime business partner Yates (who briefly started up a competing Speed Seduction business). But the murmurings among people in the community were that RJ has "turned over a new leaf" and was all about "sharing" and being more "community based."
Well, it turns out, like everything else about MINE99, that was false.
On his blog, he recently wrote a huge post pretty much attacking everyone in the seduction community all over again. (So much for changing, eh Ross?)
I believe this post was in response to the fact that he was not invited to attend the upcoming PUA summit in LA, being put on by his former top Speed Seducer (who now wants nothing to do with him, surprise, surprise.).

Okay, so a while back I wrote a post about how Juggler, the guy behind Charisma Arts, seems to have a lot of unpublicized feuds going on, particularly when it comes to his former business partner Christian Hudson. Well, it seems the feud goes a little deeper than I previously thought.
Check out the latest drama on the Charisma Arts message boards, titled: "Christian Hudson is a theif, Wayne what do I do?" (The post since seems to have been deleted!)

The Secret Files Are Coming…

Hey everyone, I am really excited because this Thursday I am going to be releasing my Secret Files interview series.
A lot of you guys are probably familiar with David DeAngelo’s Interview Series where he sits down and picks the brains of various dating gurus. Well, I didn’t want to do a re-hash of what David DeAngelo already offers (after all, how many times do you need to hear an interview with a different Dating Guru?), so I decided to sit down and interview real women about their experience with dating, relationships, and being picked up by guys.
And let me tell you, the results have been FASCINATING.
Seriously, I’ve learned a lot of incredible information from my interviews with women. After listening to them, you really start to get an idea of how women think, and why they react the way they do to the things guys try on them.
But in addition to that, I’ll also be including a special report with each audio, so not only do you get something to listen to, but you also get something interesting to read every month!
Also – part of the initial starter kit for the series contains some killer interviews I’ve done with some of the best pick-up artists operating today. Check out the line-up:
- Neil Strauss
- Mystery
- Carlos Xuma
- Dave M.
- David Shade
- IN10SE
- Major Mark Cunningham
- Stephen Shelly
- Zan
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The Secret Files are PACKED with tons of pickup material you won’t find anywhere else!
I’ve put up a few sneak previews on my Art Of Approaching website already. You can download a free report and check out some sneak peek audios by visiting here:

So some woman, who was married to a guy, decided to get married to another woman, then decided she wasn’t gay, and dumped her after the law came after her. Brilliant.
The civil partnership ceremony between Suzanne Mitchell and her lesbian lover Caroline Beddoes at Shrewsbury register office, on February 1, 2006, was a quiet affair.
Suzanne, a petite blonde, wore a beige skirt and cream blouse while Caroline, a statuesque brunette, wore a white trouser suit reminiscent of the one worn by John Travolta in the film Saturday Night Fever.
None of Suzanne’s friends or family turned up, and only a smattering of Caroline’s. After the happy couple said their vows, pledging to love each other for ever, the party repaired to a local pub to celebrate with a few drinks.
But there was one small problem. Suzanne, 30, was still married to her husband Charles, 46, with whom she’d exchanged the same vows at the very same register office some six years earlier.
Even more bizarrely, Charles – the father of two of her five children – was still ensconced at the family home, albeit relegated to the sofa downstairs once 24-year-old secretary Caroline had replaced him in the marital bed.
This embarrassing state of affairs would have remained their little secret, had police not acted on an anonymous tip-off after Suzanne’s "marriage" to Caroline imploded within two months and she decided she wasn’t gay after all.
Last week, she found herself in court accused of being the country’s first lesbian "bigamist". The mother of five admitted making a false statement to the registrar by failing to mention she was already married. She will be sentenced in August and is praying she won’t be sent to jail.
I think this entire article is a fascinating warning for guys who fall in love with bisexual women. One of those "Be careful what you wish for" scenereos. I’ve yet to see an example of a polyamourous relationship that actually lasts for the long haul.

235 Reasons To Have Sex (like we needed more than 1!)
July 24, 2007 by Thundercat
I tracked down a very interesting article about a study done on "Sexual Motivation," otherwise known as "what are the reasons people have sex?" Some of the answers are very interesting, ranging from the benign "I was horny" to the evil "I wanted revenge." Check it out…
According to the biggest study carried out into sexual motivations, these include that it is a "reasonably effective way of overcoming boredom", help you fall asleep or gets rid of a stress headache.
For others, the desire for revenge was the major factor, while some lovers were motivated by a purely selfless wish to make the other person feel good.
The researchers also confirmed what most already consider obvious – men and women think differently about sex.
They found it was more about the physical experience for men, while women’s desires were based on an emotional need.
Women were much more likely to say: "I realized that I was in love." Men were more likely to say: "I wanted to increase the number of partners I had experienced."
Researcher Cindy Meston said: "We identified 237 distinct reasons why people have sex. They ranged from the mundane – ‘It feels good’, to the spiritual – ‘I wanted to feel closer to God’.
From altruistic – ‘I wanted the other person to feel good’, to manipulative – ‘I wanted to get a promotion’."
For the study, reported in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour this week, psychologists at the University of Texas quizzed more than 2,000 men and women aged 17 to 52.
"Why people have sex is a surprisingly little-studied topic," says their report. "One reason for its relative neglect is that scientists might simply assume that the answers are obvious."
Each of the 237 reasons was given the highest rating by at least one of the people taking part.
"The frequently endorsed reasons for having sex, reflect what motivates most people most of the time: attraction, pleasure, affection, love, romance, emotional closeness, arousal, the desire to please, adventure, excitement and opportunity," say the psychologists.
"The less frequently-endorsed reasons, however, may be no less important. One person’s seemingly trivial reason for having sex might well be another’s magnificent obsession."
Notice how men seemed in it for the "experience" or "variety" while women gravitated towards the more emotional reasons. Interesting.

Women In Charge In Marriage
July 17, 2007 by Thundercat
So it looks like a new study has proven what pretty much most married men know to be true… that women are the ones in charge at home.
Men might throw their weight around at the office, but at home, women are the bosses.
A study, which was just released, finds that wives have more power than their husbands in making decisions and dominating discussions.
"The study at least suggests that the marriage is a place where women can exert some power," said lead author David Vogel, a psychologist at Iowa State University (ISU). "Whether or not it’s because of changing societal roles, we don’t know.”
The results counter past research.
“Most of the research literature in psychology has suggested that women have less power,” Vogel told LiveScience. “They have largely based that on the fact that traditionally men earn more money and so therefore would have the ability to make big decisions in the relationship.” That wasn’t the case in this study.
Snippage.
Trained volunteers coded the videotapes using a scale that rated couples’ interactions based on words and behaviors associated with blame (blames, accuses and criticizes the partner); demand (nags, pressures for change, requests); withdrawal and avoidance (avoids discussion the problem by hesitating, changing topics, diverting attention or looking away); and discussion.
Wives were more demanding—asking for changes in the relationship or in their partner—and were more likely to get their way than the husbands. This held regardless of who had chosen the issue.
The women were not just talking more than their husbands.
"It wasn’t just that the women were bringing up issues that weren’t being responded to, but that the men were actually going along with what they said,” Vogel explained. “[Women] were communicating more powerful messages, and men were responding to those messages by agreeing or giving in.”
One reason for in-charge wives could be that they carry the weight of making sure the family farm is running smoothly.
"Women are responsible for overseeing the relationship, making sure the relationship runs, that everything gets done, and that everybody’s happy," Murphy said.
Wife power could signal a harmonious couple. "There’s been research that suggests that’s a marker of a healthy marriage—that men accept influence from their wives," Murphy said.
A harmonious couple, possibly. An unhappy couple? Definitely. Most married men I know tend to just agree with their wives so they don’t have to deal with a fight, but then go off and do what they were going to do anyway. I call it "Married Ear." We listen, then we ignore.
The interesting part I found in this article was that wives tended to demand changes in the relationship or in their partner. This isn’t exactly news, but it does point out the disadvantage men face in marriage. They have to either force a change to suit their wife, or be miserable. Doesn’t sound very appealing does it? In my experience, I’ve found that this behavior by the women tends to drive the man to cheat. And can you blame the guy? I mean, he’s the same dude she married, and now that she’s married him, she wants him to be someone he’s not.
In situations like that, the guy just might not feel comfortable at the home.
I understand that you need a strong woman to make sure the family is running smoothly, but in my experience, all the best marriages seem to occur when the man has the final say in most matters. Marriage is a partnership, but having a ball-busting wife you can never win with is a sure-fire recipe for a FAILED marriage.
