Hey guys,
This week I have a very interesting video to share with you, but before I do, I want to give you a bit of background…
I got my friend Erica to invite a number of girls to come by my place one hot summer’s day. None of them knew why they were going to be there, they were just doing it as a favor for my friend.
So I had NEVER met these girls before. They didn’t know me. I didn’t know them.
I had two guys I knew show up as well. Their names are Theo and Zack. Here’s a little bit about them:
THEO
Theo is a personal trainer here in Hollywood. He’s extremely muscular and fit, and every girl who sees him is instantly turned on by his looks.
When you compare Theo’s chizzled body to my rotund Kung-Fu Panda-esque body, there’s simply no doubt about it – I’m the loser!
ZACK
Zack is a big party guy. He goes out to the clubs 5-6 nights a week (no kidding!). By his own admission, he finds hooking up with girls “easy.”
Zack is a very good looking guy, with a head of hair I’d kill for. Me, I’m not the club going type anymore. So when it comes to social pick-up skills, Zack should have me beat.
The Shoot
The way things worked is that Erica would bring the girls out one at a time, and they each met with Theo, Zack, and myself.
After each meeting, my friend Ryan would interview the girls about their experience while my friend Steve video taped the interview.
I want to re-itterate: NONE of the girls really knew what was going on!
And trust me – this was NOT a professional production! It was just my friends with a video camera. No make up artists, special effects, or any of that stuff. I’m sure you’ll be able to tell from the quality of the video, this was really HOME MADE!
My friend Ryan, who interviewed each of the girls, was absolutely SHOCKED by their responses.
In each instance, I came of just as attractive, and in most cases – even MORE attractive – than the good looking guys!

P.S. Some of you haters might be inclined to think that this video was somehow “staged.” I can assure you, that is not the case.
None of the girls were coached on what to say. All their reactions stem from the conversations they had with me and the two other guys.
You can tell, just by watching the way they answer the questions, they’re NOT reading from a script.
It was very important to me that we capture the REAL REACTIONS of these women, so I can prove to all of you how effective personality is when it comes to generating attraction.
At the end of the day, I know there are some guys out there bitter and shallow-minded enough to still think I “faked” this shoot. But that’s okay. Those are the guys who’ll never succeed with girls.
I’ll leave it to you to decide if what you see is real or not.

What I will say is that it really doesn’t matter WHAT you put up for proof. Some of these guys are simply happy to be miserable and bitter and will find fault or a way to disprove any proof you provide. I hope your not getting consumed with proving yourself to some of these dudes. They don’t really WANT success, and they don’t want to believe they can have success. Subconsciously I think it’s why some of them “cling” to outrageous things like reading long winded SS scripts or becoming a total jerky asswipe of doom because deep down they really dont even WANT success — they just want to be bitter and to hate women for the pain they have caused them, they can’t see past that.
The two guys didn’t seem to give a shit about the interaction….and I wouldn’t either. Some of the girls were fugly, but on the same hand, two were cute.
Props for posting the video all the same. It doesn’t prove anything though….you’re still a fat, balding KJ. It’s time to move on old man…..

Mack you should watch the video- Thundie does really good, and I think it is helpful to guys who insist that looks are so important. It definitely wasn’t staged, and I doubt anyone would accuse him of such.
Now, the two “studs” were painfully socially clueless. It never ceases to amaze me how someone can get past their 20s and still be that totally inept. I guess if I could stand to hang around non-artist, non-pua guys for longer than a free shot in a sports bar, it wouldn’t amaze me so much, because 90% of guys are like that. But how the hell do they do it? I mean it’s almost like they’ve gone through life without carrying on conversations with people!
I doubt Thundie did this to prove himself, I actually think he did it to prove to newbies how much loks don’t matter, and he’s done a great job!
Mind you, the only reason I give Thundie shit is because he keeps attacking SS due to his personal grudge against Ross, which I think is not only petty but also detrimental to newbs who could get alot out of it.
And btw, what’s the difference in learning a long-winded SS script for self improvement and doing those long-winded things you suggest for dealing with AA on your blog?

As for how I deal with AA, if I get it I just accept it and take action anyways — like jumping in a cold pool and I make the first 3 sets throwaway sets. That’s the advice I give guys on my blog. It’s hardly involved, so Im not sure what your smokin but I wouldnt mind trying some.

You know it surprises me that so many guys have a hard time being convinced that looks don’t matter as much to women. We know that they are far more emotional and run by their emotions. It’s like their primary function — so it just MAKES sense that if you can make them feel emotions and appeal enough to them logically for them to backwards rationalize — than your going to come off much more attractive to them. Their emotions are their most powerful sense — they have like 6th senses.
Now sure a good haircut, some nice clothes, hitting the gym a lot — that’s even better than just good game alone, but the looks thing only matters so much as how you see your own looks. If you feel ugly than she will feel your ugly. If you feel attractive and appeal to her emotions than that’s much more important to her.

They think I’m delusional in thinking that looks don’t matter, cuz they hear young girls talking about how fine this or that guy is or how abs turn them on. Also, I think it’s because since they are so fixated on looks, they think women must be too.

No I think he’s right only because at least some of these girls might not have given Thundie enough time to reveal to them that he’s the prize in another situation (clubs, bars, malls, whatever), whereas they’d prolly be more open to the other guys in a different environment, but those two would have just blown themselves anyway. So maybe what we’re trying to say is looks are great for meeting, but not so important for fucking. Of course those two probably do get laid by freaks from time to time.

This has been done before. In his book “How To Pick Up Beautiful Women”, John Eagan gives examples of a study where good looking guys talked to women as did average looking did. The good looking guys stored good at first, but after a while the average looking guys scored higher because they had better personalities.
do your own survey, the vast majority of hot women are with average looking guys. women many times put up a wall to good lookers because they assume they are players with an STD. Looks are no panacea, as is money or even social status. I think the only thing that comes close is being a celebrity

He does it to build up rage in his students, to build a us versus them mentality. It allows him to dismiss other methods, it was the “looks” that did it not the attitude or method. As a side note, I think jeffiries is a great intellect , I know his method more so than the others and I use some of the patterns concepts. I also believe it offers the most to women, for me using the mm or other stuff was like spinning cotten candy. On the other hand, I have seen guys use mm and make it work, but ultimately much of it depends on your personality. I like deeper things and language so the nlp stuff suits me well.
Lemme just jump in here one last time.
This is always such an explosive topic on any forum. It’s the hardest for guys to grasp. They feel the community says it so that they can better market their products.
Look the truth is that looks do matter — it’s just that they dont matter NEARLY as much as you make them matter.

Regardless of what you want to think or not think it is very important that you know that there is absolutely no reason for you to decide to embrace the looks matter a lot thing. Also when a woman is attracted to how “hot” a mans abs is — it is because of the character behind the man that would be disciplined and strong enough to go through the dedication that it would take to get them. It’s a status thing.

WEll I fluctuate in weight by about 25 pounds up and down throughout my life. The worst time was when I was a senior in highschool. A couple years later I had made myself cut up and had abs. I was at a party with my girlfriend and this other really hot girl kept flirting with me, telling me how much better I looked. Asking me how I did it, all enchanted and interested in my discipline, kinoing me ect. My girlfriend tried to fight her. It’s about the kind of man who cares enough about his body to take care of it well. With guys that are hot, it’s about the emotions his tallness gives her, how protected she feels with his big guns wrapped around her, how enchanted she feels from his soft eye contact deep into her soul.
Good looking guys who want to credit their good looks for getting girls — that’s one thing. Yes physical fitness is putting work into yourself & usually that guy will carry himself all around better w/ more confidence etc. He may also dress better, not meaning more expensive but clothes that fit him better. It’s kind of equivilent to the hour or 2 a woman takes to get ready before going out on top of the countless hours working out, tanning, nails, hair, counting calories etc.
Looks don’t count totally BUT a lot (not all) of things about looks are healthier & men & women are meant to mate aka bring healthy babies into the world.
Bad teeth can be a lot of internal health problems such as heart etc. Out of shape = possible health problems especially as you hit 30+ pounds overweight. Nice clothes, tan, in shape etc indicates you take care of yourself & actually care for yourself.
You can still overcome these things but it helps a hell of a lot especially initially. PLUS when you start taking care of yourself better & lead a cleaner, healthier lifestyle you tend to feel better about yourself & carry yourself & tend to be more fun etc.
There is a huge amount of bias going on in this video. You don’t need to “stage”/”fake” a video for your “results” to be BS. If you really think this video demonstrates anything you should study up on the scientific process. I work in the sciences so let me fill you in on what is wrong with this video (my list is not exhaustive):
-The two hot guys both know what is going on here and they are both playing along to the roles that they’re expected to play. They’re basically trying to be boring or be dicks, and if the girls have any intelligence they can pick up on the guys trying to be boring/dicks and it will help them figure out what is going on.
-This next problem is huge: your interviewer asks insanely leading questions. I’m sure thundercat is right that the girls weren’t coached and had no idea what is going on beforehand. But unless the girls are retarded they’re going to easily figure out what they’re supposed to say just by the questions the interviewer is asking. The girls will quickly figure out “oh they’re doing some study on looks vs. personality, because the interviewer keeps asking questions about looks vs. personality. Gee, I don’t think of myself as shallow and the socially acceptable thing to do is to say that I like personality way more, so that’s what I’ll do”. It looks like they would interview a girl BEFORE letting thundercat interact with her. So since the interviewer basically gave away what they were doing, they knew for sure by the time they talked to thundercat that they were expected to have a good time with him because he was the “personality guy.” I’m not saying they were consciously trying to be deceptive, but this stuff will definitely bias the results.
-With thundercat controlling the decision whether to even post a video or not (and also the editing), if the girls WERE retarded and didn’t pick up on what they were supposed to say and actually said that didn’t like thundercat at all, the video might simply never be posted. Maybe there are 5 other videos out there that we never saw because they don’t confirm thundercat’s theories. But thundercat gets to choose what videos he posts and how he edits it which can introduce all sorts of bias. It could even be unconscious. People are good at fooling themselves.
I’m not saying that thundercat is wrong about how much looks matter, I am just saying that this video proves nothing.
I’ll tell you what: since I have lots of experience running actual scientific experiments, I will volunteer to help thundercat collect REAL evidence about his theories. This would involve the following: I or one of my agents would go in field with thundercat, with a video camera and with thundercat mic’d up. We would repeatedly pick girls by some process which is reproducible (like randomly select a girl by rolling a 20 sided die or something), have thundercat approach the girl, and keep track of how many of those girls he F-closes (not how many girls claim that they like him when interviewed). We’ll repeat the process for a wide range of guys, some of whom will be hotter than thundercat and will have a worse personality than thundercat. These other guys will not be thundercat’s friends who are trying to sabotage themselves to make thundercat’s video go how it’s supposed to. They will actually be trying. Maybe we’ll invite some other famous PUAs to compete against thundercat.

Listen guys this is not about science and it is not about percent ratio’s of successful hook points or x + y = b.
Maybe Thundercat staged the whole thing, maybe he didn’t. No one is going to conduct some sort of scientific test to proove anything to you. It’s like I said in the very beginning of this article to thundercat — some guys desperately cling to their struggles and their identity. For them to buy into the fact that looks matter much less than they think that would mean that THEY are to blame for their lack of success. They can no longer be victums in a cruel materialistic world.
I struggled with the looks thing for a long time. When I got my first hottie girlfriend I was secretely insecure. Every time ANYONE would be like wow she is beautiful — I would cringe — I would think how they were thinking she was out of my league. When taller or hotter guys would hit on her and she wouldn’t blow them out — I would leave. I couldnt even bear to watch. I use to be one of the ones who argued it.
Looks do give you an advantage with all else being equal but a woman wants to be around a man who can make her feel the things that looks make her feel. This means that if you can make her feel the same things than that is what matters to her.
You can believe me or you can not believe me. You can think Thundie set this up or you can think he didn’t. You can think it is not scientific enough or you can not think that.
None of it matters.
What matters is what you think of yourself. To yourself you are NEVER going to be enough, there will ALWAYS be excuses. To spend your life wishing you looked like someone else is the only way to truely gaurentee that looks matter. It is better to be diusional about your looks than to be realistic and realistically feel your not as good looking as the next guy.
I walked into CVS today and I was feeling pretty good looking. OUt came this dude who was taller, and had better style. He looked me up and down and I looked him up and down. We probably both were envious of eachothers look but who knows. Anyways the guy jumped on his motorcycle and drove off. For a split second I felt debilitated — like I do sometimes when I first get in a club — surrounded by younger, fitter guys who got 500 dollars from their mommy to go get some kick ass clothes to put on. I have a choice to dwell on these things and then I have the choice to embrace the man inside of me, the survivor inside of me, the TESTOSTERONE inside of me. A real man never sits there fretting that the other guy looks better to the girl. That shit is for LOSERS. THat shit is for CHUMPS. That shit is for the guys who will spend their whole LIVES downloading internet porn and then when they are 60 and all alone they will only WISH that they looked as good as they did when they are 20 — and when they notice all the couples and hot girls with average looking guys who dont even look as good as he did at their age — they will spend the rest of their lives just WISHING TO GOD that they could have a time machine and do it all over again.
This isnt about fucking science you morons. This is about your self image, your self respect, your self acceptance. Giving yourself permission to deserve what you want out of life. I mean holy fuckin shit. GET A CLUE.
You know this is an uphill battle, one that can never be won with some guys but I am going to tell a few stories just to further try to reach the guys who CAN be reached.
I know this guy at work who had his face burned and basically has a face where part of it is a different color than the rest of it. This guy attends work parties and even hosts them sometimes. He has some good game and he gets laid a lot and is the first choice of many of the girls at work — most likely due to a combination of social proof within the work place and his game.
The best natural I have ever met is about my height (5’9). He use to wear dirty smelly t-shirts and shorts and grew his hair out pretty long and NEVER would style it. He never shaved and had a thick brownish red beard with brown eyes. The guy pulled 3 girls back to back in one week and was a massive pimp. In fact with all my training and skills combined with a semi-natural background he beat me out in a couple of toe to toe matches with subtle but effective amog skills ALONE — along with a more positive warm friendly energy.
Growing up I knew this kid that is about 5’5. He was skinny and scrawny and short — and he has a receding hairline. He had the bad boy dont give a fuck game. He has NEVER gone without a girlfriend and has gone from one girl to the next since I met him in highschool. He has banged girls taller than him and way hotter than him. In fact later I found out that before I got with one of my hot girlfriends — HE had been screwing her. In our social circle he went through every single girl that I went through — and then some.
I also go to a dive bar in the shitty town that I live in. Some of the biggest losers in the town (they call it a city but the population is like 30 thousand) congregate at this place. I get to see it all. In fact one time a few months back this jersey girl happen to stumble into the place. She was dressed in prom dress fashion with a glimmering gold dress and a purse. Her hair was done up as if she was from LA. In fact I asked her if she WAS from LA. This girl was fucking hot as hell. Like a 9 by hollywood standards. I talked with her a bit and got a makeout — but got distracted and never went back to her basically because I think subconsciously I felt like I had some definate lays lined up in the bar and would be better to spend my time with the sure thing than go after this much more challenging girl. (I know I was stupid that night — it happens). Later on I watched as a 40+ year old sketchy looking dude pulled her from the bar.
I tell you guys these stories because they are my experiences. I myself am not a model by any means. While it feels good to have gotten 7 and 8′s on hotornot or to be told by some of my wings or some of the girls I hook up with that I am good looking — the fact of the matter is that I am 5’9 — struggle to fit into any sort of stereotypical GQ model look, have teeth that could use a whitening session, a big italian nose, and am sporting a beer gut currently. Right now I am at least 30 pounds overweight — and yet I can go out and have girls eyeing me as if I am a fucking model.
Looks are in the eyes of the beholder and with women your personality and style can make a huge difference. The only fathonable role that looks plays in all of this is how much harder you have to work. A guy who is a 10 by looks standards can go out on any given night and as long as he is not a complete retard he can probably approach about 5 women and end up laying one of them within 48 hours. Someone who is an 8 — maybe he has to talk to 10 women to accomplish the same thing. SOmeone like me — I might have to go through 20 girls before that happens. It’s all about whether or not you want it and whether or not you believe that your entitled to it. It’s that simple.

I greatly appreciate the intelligent manner in which you approached your feelings towards my posts. I am also flattered to be mentioned as similar to Ciaran because he was a great writer who moved and inspired people emotionally with many legendary posts.
I aspire to be a writer and a big part of my motivation is to inspire people emotionally through text and to make an impact.
What I bring to the table in these posts and many others is the lessons I have learned. I have been on this path for some time and have gone through ALL of the hurdles. One of my favorite ebooks is the attractioncode because of the field report layout in which the young subject writes of all the hurdles he goes through in his quest to become good with women, and all the setbacks along the way.
No one is a master of women and no one is perfect — but when I take the time to write out a detailed and emotional post it is based upon the lessons i have learned and spinned passionately. I associate myself with past states and the ways I have overcome them and the things I have learned as a result.
While I think no doubt I could benefit from the internalization of the sedona method I am very passionate about tackling the common sticking points that come up with new men who are looking to attain a better tomorrow. I do not write to “sort out” my own inner game but rather to communicate the ways that I was able to sort out inner game issues of the past.
While I will never claim to have all the answers or to have a flawless inner game — I am someone who has been passionate, willing, and able to take a very strong and long look at the mistakes, sticking points, and flaws of my thinking in the past — and am able to break down to the conclusions i have come to that have brought me to this point in my journey.
I appreciate your recommendations and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I do not aspire to be any sort of guru or mentor but only to add insight and clarity to someones path. It’s now time for me to hit the clubs and bars and see if I can keep my streak alive.
I agree that these videos are far from “Scientific”. There is a ton of bias in the videos.
That being said, I agree with the basic premise it is trying to prove. A girl would prefer a guy with a good personality vs. just some hot dude who is a doornob. (well, most girls).
The thing is, most girls that are attractive have more options than “good looking guy who is a door nob” or “average/below average guy with a good personality”. Most girls have the option of “good looking guy with average personality”. And in that case, I think the girl will like pick good looking with average personalty, vs. below average looks with better personality.

You forget that Thundercat is a businessman. Everything he does is in some way connected with promoting his products, either indirectly or directly.
The debate of looks vs personality is a very old one, and one that continues just as much outside of the community as within. YOU may think it’s been resolved, but you’re in the minority.
So, if Thundercat puts his 2c in to the debate with his “evidence”, you can expect it to be examined and critiqued.

The men are so staged to provoke terrible reactions from the girls that TC or anyone will look good next to those guys. So, although he’s honest is the girls reactions are not scripted, the guys are scripted in my opinion, and this is disingenuous.

Mack, I don’t know what you have going on there that triggered your off topic rant about my love life and self acceptance and various other stuff, but the issue is whether thundercat’s “study” was flawed or not, which you fail to address.
I base my beliefs on my best estimate of what is true, given the evidence. Not all of us think it’s worth it (or healthy) to delude ourselves in the hopes that it will make women like us more, or because we find reality too upsetting to deal with.
These are some fine posts.
As for what kind of guy gets a hot girl, here’s the “elusive obvious” I’ve noticed that won’t make many forum boards, or be the next soap box for some master pick up artist to rally against.

Young, well-dressed men of a certain social status. Not in that silly “alpha” attitude slung around the community. Rather, success in some professional vocation. They’re not assholes, they’re not AMOGs, they’re not losers. They are simply nice, well dressed guys, with a future.

I myself was really fat and lost about 40 KGs ,I got my body toned and looking great ,And guess what was the difference on the inside , NOTHING , I still felt self-conscious even with such body ,of course I had more confidence wearing cool clothes and as girls checking me out more ,Yet it didn’t change me on the inside and I still felt nervous back then .
