I wanted to clear up something I said in my last Rumor-oriented post about Mystery and his marriage…

All I can say is that if Mystery’s marriage really is over, I’m greatly relieved, since I’m sure the security of marriage probably would have affected his PUA skills over time.

After reading that a few times, I realized that what I typed there came out very wrong.  See, I consider Mystery a friend, and he has taught me some great things that have really helped to improve me as a person and my life.  So I want to make this clear that I want only the best for Mystery, because I want the best for my friends.  And if marriage makes him happy, then I want it to work for him.

However, as it relates to this situation, I did not feel this was a real marriage.  Mystery had known this girl for all of two weeks by the time they got married.  Call me old fashioned, but I tend to take marriage pretty seriously.  That means, I think that for a marriage to WORK and be SUCCESSFUL, you gotta have AT LEAST a year or two of relationship under your belt before you even start CONSIDERING getting married.  I think it takes that long to really get a sense of who someone is and if you can live with that.

The kind of shotgun marriage that Mystery partook in did not meet that criteria of mine, and I saw it as a marriage that was not going to last.  But knowing Mystery, I knew that being married was going to affect his skills, lifestyle, and attitude.  Namely:  He’s gonna stop being motivated to go out.  And when that happens, it could negatively effect his business, which I don’t want to see happen.

So when I said I was "glad to see Mystery’s marriage is over," it was not because I don’t want to see him happily married.  It was because I knew this marriage wasn’t destined to last, and that the longer it was to go on, the more negatively I felt it would affect him.

I just wanted to clear that up so there were no misinterpretations.  But on the bright side of things, Mystery’s marriage did give way to a great new Opener, tentatively called the "Mystery Got Married Opener."  It goes like this:

"Hey guys, do you think it’s okay for two people to get married TWO WEEKS after meeting each other?  Check it out, I got a friend who met a girl, and after a week, she moved in with him.  Then, after two weeks, they went to Vegas and got married.  We’re all wierded out because we think our friend is moving too fast, but he’s never seemed happier.  What do you think about that?  Would you ever marry a guy two weeks after meeting him?  How in love would you have to be with someone to do that?"

Credit Merovingian on that one.  I’m still working on my own version of it.  Maybe you guys can test it out and see what you can do with it.

Some Mystery Tidbits

I’ve heard a few interesting rumors lately that I thought I’d report on, but I should say that they’re just that — RUMORS.  Nothing has been confirmed by me yet, so I just wanted to get that out of the way first.

Basically, these rumors have to do with Mystery’s marriage.  It seems that the marriage is over, pretty much 3 weeks after it began.  I’m told Mystery is telling everyone that is was really just an April Fools joke, but most people who’ve seen him and his ex-wife together could have sworn the whole thing was legit and it was just destined not to work out.  I don’t know if they’ve gotten an offical divorce or not, but I was told by some people that Mystery is out and about sarging again, which I guess is good news, though I’m also told that his former wife is now completely ignoring him when out in public, and that she was showing more than a little ammount of affection for Tyler Durden while he was in town.

There have also been various rumors of certain "love triangles" taking place in the Project Hollywood Mansion that make Melrose Place look tame in comparison.  But so far I really don’t think there’s any validity to those speculations, so I’m not going to repeat them here.  Also, the rumor above comes in second and third hand, so take it for what you will.

All I can say is that if Mystery’s marriage really is over, I’m greatly relieved, since I’m sure the security of marriage probably would have affected his PUA skills over time.

Quote of the Day

Its about time for another quote of the day.  The honor goes, once again, to Jlaix!

Jlaix says:
"She kept saying no, no when I would try to lick her (dripping wet) pussy. So I told her, "Listen, nothing will happen, I have whiskey dick! It won’t even work!" and showed her my flaccid, whiskified cock. "I just wanna lick it!" She relents at this, and I, of course, resume erection during the licking and commence fucking shortly thereafter. kaching!"

Words to live by.  I hear this experience has prompted Jlaix to create the FALSE WHISKEY DICK LMR DESTROYER tactic.

Cheers.

Tyler Phone Game Tip

In a post asking about how long one should wait to call a girl, Tyler Durden responds:

Tyler Durden writes:
Follow up on phone#s ASAP, including the same hour and definetely the next day. This goes against typical social “Wait a bit to call”, which is bullshit that does not account for player style cold approaches.

Call as late as you want, but absolutely remember not to fall into a trap of trying to remind her who you are over and over until she gets it. Instead, state who you are and where you met and then immediately plow into your phone game. “Hey, its Tyler from the Phoenix Club. So check this out……….” That way, even if she doesn’t remember, she’ll be so into you that she’ll show up regardless. If you get stuck trying to remind her, she’ll just keep saying “No, I don’t remember”, and then hang up. If you barrel through it whether she remembers or not, then she’ll get into you and you’ll bypass it.

Good tip. You can read the whole thread here.

The Return of Manifestis

One of the community’s most infamous members — the one and only MANIFESTIS — is back after an extended leave of absence from posting. I use the word “infamous” because, well, he’s not exactly known for his prowess with women, if you catch my drift. Anyway, he’s an interesting character that has a great deal of history, especially with those who have been in Mystery’s Lounge from the beginning. The field report of his first lay was really funny (and not intentionally so).

Anyway, here’s a link to his first post in a long while. There’s noting in it worth reading, really, since it has no redeeming value other than having Manifestis whine and ask for advice. But for those who care, it might be in interesting read. =)

Deconstructing David DeAngelo, Vol. II

Well, the first Deconstruction of David D. stuff seemed to go over well, so I decided to do yet another one.  I think that David D. has a lot of great stuff to be aware of when it comes to picking-up women, especially if you’re a beginner.  I guess these Deconstructions are more for guys who aren’t as advanced in this stuff, but I know that it helps me when I go back and read these newsletters because sometimes its easy to forget the basics.

Making Girls Chase for Sex

A poster who is quickly becoming a favorite of mine is Nightblue, who I think has been posting a lot of great stuff lately. I had a talk with Tyler recently and he seems to agree that ol’ NB is definitely a guy who’s posts are worth reading. He recently put up a pretty good post about how to make girls chase you for sex in a seduction venue, which I found to be rather intriguing…

Being talkative

I found this post on mASF Advanced about Achieving the Talkative State Before Approaching:

Narcissisto writes:
What’s the best way of getting into the talkative state before approaching? What’s the best way of keeping that state, or getting back to it if you let someone change it?

I think this is one of the hardest things to do when it comes to pick-up. I call it being in “social mode.” Most people get so complacent in their comfort zones, that it is just too hard for them to approach other people! But there are little tricks you can do to shift yourself out of your comfort zone and into social mode.

Often times, when I’m out to sarge with a wingman, they will instantly want to “do some sets” and start talking to girls right away. To me, this is very hard to do if I’m in my comfort zone, because the LAST thing I feel like doing is talking to girls. Most of my best nights have been when I’ve warmed-up properly and gotten into social mode BEFORE approaching girls. There are a few things that go into this:

1. Knowing what to talk about
2. Warming up with people who you do not have a vested outcome in mind.
3. Having High energy

I think these 3 things are important when getting into social mode. Knowing what to say can help you get the ball rolling on a lot of things, and saves your brain time and effort in thinking about how to get a conversation going.

When it comes to warming up with people who you do not have a vested outcome in mind, what I’m talking about here is namely — Men and Ugs. People you have no interest in fucking. Because you divest yourself of an outcome with these people, it helps you to get the mouth moving and get your energy up before approaching the real targets.

Getting High energy is usually either the first or last thing you will do. Going into warm-ups with a high energy already will help you to engage other people. If your energy is down, simply getting into good conversations with strangers will help to pump it up, because you’ll start to break out of your comfort zone.

I talk more about this in my book The Art of Approaching and will probably write an article about this topic soon, because I think it’s really important to know how to get social in environments where you want to pick-up.

I’d also like to add that having a few drinks in you can help. Sad, but true. =)

Persistence is Key

Gunwitch has a post up on mASF about the single most important trait a pick-up artist should have, that of PERSISTENCE. I usually don’t agree with much of what Gunwitch writes, but I found this post to be pretty good. I tend to agree that persistence is probably a deciding factor in who gets laid and who doesn’t. I know of some guys out there who get laid simply because they don’t give up! And that’s a good thing.

Anyway, on to Gunwitch’s post…

PUA Poll #1 Results

April 19, 2004 by

Okay, well, I gave it three days so it’s time to render the results of the first PUA Poll on the Lair.  Some of you didn’t follow the instructions and voted for more than one method (you know who you are!).  But I decided to count the votes anyway, since I didn’t feel like disqualifying the posts of those people who took the time to reply.  =)

Anyway, the results are as follows:

High Status Male — 1 vote
Seduction Science — 1 vote
The James Method — 2 votes
SS — 3 votes
Badboy Method — 3 votes
Gunwitch Method — 4 votes
Double Your Dating — 4 votes
Mystery Method — 5 votes
Swinggcat/Real World Seduction — 5 votes

and the winner of the poll is…

Real Social Dynamics — 8 votes

I’d like to point out that RSD also got the most votes from the people who DID follow the guidelines and only chose 1 method.  Looks like TD and crew are doing something right.  =)

Style’s Girlfriends

April 19, 2004 by

I found a post as I was surfing through mASF entitled "Style has 12 GFs, how does he do it?  Managing HBs."  I found this quite funny.  For those guys who were at the PUA Summit in LA recently, you’ll probably know what this title is referring to, since Style had about 6 of his ladies show up during his speech.

Asking how Style has 12 girlfriends is like asking Pai Mei to teach you the 5 point palm exploding heart technique.  Only those who truely deserve the knowledge will eventually attain it after years of grueling training at the cruel hand of Style.  Much mental and physical torture must be endured to truely appreciate what it takes to achieve such a level of social mastery.

Right now I’m dealing with three girls, and the sheer logistics of that alone is something that is almost overwhelming for me.  I can’t imagine dealing with 12.  But the notion of how to manage multiple long term relationships and multiple partners is an interesting one, and it’s primirilly what this thread is dealing with.

There’s not too much good information in the thread.  I just liked the title.  There is a reason why Style is the most powerful of the jedi, after all.

On a Personal Note…

I had a great weekend this last week.  I really didn’t do too much in the way of PUA really, but it was very relaxing and very much a "Mental Health Vacation."  I did a lot of solo stuff, going out in Pasadena on Friday night and hitting up Santa Monica on Saturday.  Had a few good approaches with girls, nothing too special.  I ended up seeing both Kill Bill Vol. 2 and The Punisher this weekend.  All I can say is Kill Bill was AWESOME!  Better than the first one.  I enjoyed The Punisher as well, but that’s probably because I was a fan of the comic and not in the mood for thinking while I was watching it.  =)

The Sopranos this weekend was really good.  I loved the subplot with Christopher and his AA buddy.  Classic.  Deadwood wasn’t all too exciting, but I find the characters in that show so interesting that it’s hard to be bored by it.  I also caught the new Chris Rock special "Never Scared."  Not as funny as "Bigger and Blacker," but still good.  If there are any guys out there who want to improve their sense of humor, study Chris Rock.  He’s at his funniest when he talks about male/female relationships and truisms.  Watch how he talks about them to get a sense of what people find funny — namely, the stuff we all know but no one wants to verbalize.  Great stuff.

As far as those who wanted to know about my field-rejected Kill Bill routine, well, I’m not gonna share it.  Maybe at some point in the future I may if I recieve a large enough bribe, but I will tell you there’s a reason why it’s "field-rejected," so I’ll save you all the misery of reading it (though its true nature cannot be appreciated until you see it in person, lol).

Okay, enough silly rants about reality distractions.  Back to Pick-Up & Seduction.  =)
