Some Mystery Tidbits

I’ve heard a few interesting rumors lately that I thought I’d report on, but I should say that they’re just that — RUMORS.  Nothing has been confirmed by me yet, so I just wanted to get that out of the way first.

Basically, these rumors have to do with Mystery’s marriage.  It seems that the marriage is over, pretty much 3 weeks after it began.  I’m told Mystery is telling everyone that is was really just an April Fools joke, but most people who’ve seen him and his ex-wife together could have sworn the whole thing was legit and it was just destined not to work out.  I don’t know if they’ve gotten an offical divorce or not, but I was told by some people that Mystery is out and about sarging again, which I guess is good news, though I’m also told that his former wife is now completely ignoring him when out in public, and that she was showing more than a little ammount of affection for Tyler Durden while he was in town.

There have also been various rumors of certain "love triangles" taking place in the Project Hollywood Mansion that make Melrose Place look tame in comparison.  But so far I really don’t think there’s any validity to those speculations, so I’m not going to repeat them here.  Also, the rumor above comes in second and third hand, so take it for what you will.

All I can say is that if Mystery’s marriage really is over, I’m greatly relieved, since I’m sure the security of marriage probably would have affected his PUA skills over time.

Thundercat, do you realize how you are perceived by the community for writing about “second and third hand” rumors that you “don’t think there’s any validity to?” Why would you spread rumors that you don’t think are valid?

If it is true, I am sorry that Mystery’s marriage didn’t work out. He has mentioned before that he’d like to be in a long-term relationship. I wonder why you would be “greatly relieved” if his marriage is over. PUA skills are a means to an end, not an end in themself.

Only a few years ago, the only people who breathlessly spread gossip were women and gay guys. I can’t think of anything more beta. When you guys get together it’s worse than a sewing circle. You really think your disclaimers are fooling anybody?

I feel sad for Mystery…he seemed really happy at the PUA summit….its a shame…

    Hey, TD here..

Thundercat’s blog is a mix of having all the best info sifted out for you in easy-to-read format, and a pure gossip tabloid. That’s the role it fills, and its funny. The gossip aspects aren’t meant to be taken overly seriously. It’s just for fun. That’s why he writes “This guys’ star is rising” or “Big things happening in the PUA world” and all that. It’s meant to be satirical, and fun at the same time.

So anyway, I know the real deal. But I’m not sharing it yet, because its funnier this way.. CYA! :)

why would you knock thundercat for divulging PUA news? its fun to have this stuff sprinkled in among other gold posts. And for those of us overseas, it keeps us in the know.

    >Thundercat, do you realize how you are perceived by the community for writing about “second and third hand” rumors

Why would Thundy give a FUCK how he is perceived? This is his blog, his thoughts, whatever he feels like posting. An online diary of sorts. Enjoy it and stop bitching.

    >>Ross must have X-ray eyes. He sees right through all the weasely, beat-off-around-the-bush, BS in the original article and boiled it down to the cold hard facts of the case. As a personality, you guys can knee-jerk and knock him all you want, but you can’t argue with the substance of his assessment of the situation, can you? [posted by shinji on another thread]

…and anyone who writes the above is a dork.

    Hey Thundy,

I have an idea for you which I’m graciously ripping off from a local radio-station. Have a weekly or fortnightly article called the “rumour-mill”. (or rumor for you yanks!) The idea is that anyone can submit rumours to you via email. You then post them (or the ones you deem worthy) onto the weekly column, along with other general gossip.

Everyone knows that there are NO proof to these rumours and that they are just fun and should NOT be believed. However, whenever the truth comes out that one of the previous rumours were indeed correct and accurate, then that person wins a prize. Maybe an ebook, or just some “props”.

    Could be cool and fun.

And if you don’t have the time, I’m sure SOMEONE out there will be interested in writing up a regular column like this for your site.
