DYD Mastery, Day 4, Tyler Durden Recap

Well, I finished typing up the Tyler Durden recap for today, and man, is it a long one! Loaded with lots of great PUA info for sure! My brain is offically fried. Anyway, I realized while typing it up that I had forgotten to do a newsletter for last month, so the idea struck me that I had to make this month’s issue of the Sandbox EXTRA good. Hey guys,
Well, the pictures seemed to go over well. I know that one of the most common emails I got from guys regarding the site were “Do you have any pictures of these guys I can see?” Well, ask and ye shall recieve, gentlemen. I present to you the ringleader of the Real Social Dynamics team, Tyler Durden!
Originally, Tyler did not want his picture out on the internet, even though he’s going to be in an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. But he was gracious enough to give me permission to post up not only a pic of him from the seminar, but personal pictures from his own collection on the site!
One note I’d like to make is that Sickboy asked that his face not be shown, so I have blurred him out. He lives a private life and does not want his face out there, so please respect his privacy.

Energies of Good & Evil

This post by Tyler isn’t really too focused on tactics, but I think it’s a great post none the less. It has a lot to do with energy and how it affects us and others around us. I don’t know about you guys, but I do believe in energy. I think it’s something that’s present in every day life and you can see it and feel it.
Sure, this pushes the boundary of crazy new-age wu-wu, but regardless, I think there’s some great information in this post. And Tyler’s analytical writing style gives you lots and lots to think about.

DYD Masters Recap, Day 4

Okay guys, here we go again with my last recap of the DYD Masters Seminar. What a great experience this turned out to be. Whenever I go to one of these seminars, I always come out feeling like I learned something. And you do meet interesting people at these things. That’s one of my favorite parts of going to events such as this, because you always come out having met lots of interesting people, and even a few new friends.
The last day of the Seminar, in my opinion, wasn’t as good as Day 3, but it came awful close, mostly due to Swinggcat and the Real Social Dynamics crew sharing some amazing stuff with the audience.
The Good
The day before, I had heard that Day 4 was going to be nothing but guest speakers, so I was sure to actually show up on time this day (though that was quite an ordeal, seeing as how I was out late with Rick H and crew the night before). I had enjoyed the guest speakers so much on Day 3, I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss any of the ones presenting on Day 4.
But David D took the stage yet again in the morning to share his last bit of new material with his audience. The attendees had thinned out a bit on this day, since I’m thinking most of them probably had to catch flights back home so they could be back for work on Monday. Also, all the RSD boys were absent, probably recovering from the night before.
David D talked about the kind of tests women through at you to make you jump through hoops. These included the following:
–Acting jealous to make you change how you behave
–Complaining about something you do emotionally
–Using affection or sex as a tool to get what they want and rationing it
–Being unavailable
–Mentioning that other men are interested in her to see how you’ll respond.
He went on to say that women will act differently if you’re one of the guys who “gets it.” You can say “Stop that stuff” in response to her tests and she’ll know what you mean. You won’t feel out of control all the time, and she’ll feel more satisfied in general.
He also went on to talk about Universal Problems for Guys when it comes to approaching women. They are:
–Anxiety approaching women, fear of rejection
–Fear that an attractive woman won’t like them
–Performance anxiety
–Fear of making a physical advance
–Nervousness first talking to a woman or on a first date
One common denominator among most men is them putting too much importance on one specific situation or outcome rather than placing the importance on getting the bigger picture. David D reminded us that these things are universal. Almost all men experience them in one way or another. You need to realize that this stuff is natural and you can overcome it if you want. The first step to doing so is to stop putting too much importance on any one situation and thinking long term.
David D then went on to outline his key principals for approaching women. They are:
–Now is better than later (sort of like the 3 second rule)
–Saying anything is better than saying nothing
–It’s all upside, no downside (you lose nothing by approaching a woman)
–If this one doesn’t work, there will be 100 more women later (plenty of fish in the sea)
–At worst, I learn something, and the lessons that are learned are priceless
–Have one default thing ready to say
–If she doesn’t go for you, it’s her loss

After he finished with his material, David called Orion onto stage. Some of you may remember Orion from past DYD products, including the Advanced series and the Interview series. Orion is also one of the old time SS superstars from back in the day, and can also be heard on the BHSC, along with his Magical Connection Videos.
It’s obvious David D and Orion are old friends. In a seminar where it was evident David D did not have much rapport with his guests, Orion was one of the few he seemed to be able to interact well with on stage (the other two being Rick H and Marie). David D recounted how he’s seen Orion get up to 25 numbers in one evening, and told the audience how Orion approached one of the actresses who was filming a movie in the hotel a few days before and got a number of pictures with her (I think it was the red-haired chick from That 70’s Show).
Anyway, Orion talked about things to do on dates. He also talked about his Tarot Cards, and how he likes to use them with girls to escalate things. The biggest thing I got out of his interview with David D was when Orion said “Any limitation can be seen as a huge advantage.” I think this is good stuff because so many people look at their limitations as barriers, whereas when looked at a different light, they can actually be beneficial.
Orion’s interview wasn’t all that long, so I don’t have much to write about when it comes to it. He did pass out his own Tarot Cards that he designed and used on dates, and they were pretty cool. They even have little poems on them you can read to the girl which explains what the card means. Orion also offers personal seduction coaching through his website and offered to give DYD attendees a special discount off his tarot deck.
The next guest up on stage was Swinggcat. At first, David D started interviewing him like he was doing with Orion, but once it became clear that Swinggcat wasn’t going to give David a chance to talk (He’s up there with Mystery when it comes to hogging the stage =) David walked off and let Swinggcat run the show.
Swinggcat talked about his Kill Bill metaphor about how there are two types of guys with women: The Worker Bee, and The Renegade Killer Bee. He said that in order to be good with women, you have to be a Renegade Killer Bee.
He went on to elaborate that most people have shortcomings that make you believe you can’s succeed with women, and that’s the Worker Bee mentality where men are trying to please women into looking past those shortcomings and liking them.
He said this mentality is because most men don’t know what attraction is. He went on to define attraction as “It’s what women respond to, not what they prefer.” The harsh truth of the matter, he said, is that women prefer tall, dark, and handsome guys with big dicks. But that’s not necessarily what they may respond to. Women respond to your actions and your communication, so there are things you can do to create attraction, even if you’re not what she prefers.
Swinggcat elaborated that if you can create the emotion in her that she is constantly wanting and reaching for more of you, you define yourself as the one who is the PRIZE in the interaction.
Swingg also touched on belief systems and why they are important. He echoed the thoughts of many other guest speakers at the seminar by saying “Our beliefs become our reality.” He also talked about the importance of having a strong intent when talking to women. Having that desire to do whatever it takes to achieve your intended outcome and having the belief that can happen is the key to being successful in life and with women.
He then went on to share exercises for creating a strong intent, and how he will visualize women he’s talking to as feeling sexual tension and being attracted to him, and that because that’s his frame, women will go along with it. He then touched on Frames and Metaframes, and said that within every interaction, people’s actions have an underlying meaning, which is defined as the “frame” of the interaction.
Now it was time for Swinggcat to talk about traits women like. He said that women like guys with extremely high standards, because it gives them a model to strive to live up to. He talked about a routine he has to communicate this to women, that goes as follows:
“Are you adventurous? Are you spontaneous? If you were in kissing school, what grade would your kissing teacher give you?” (get her answer) “Let’s find out.” (kiss her)
He explained that this technique works because he gets her to ratify that she’s adventurous and spontaneous, then if she backs out of the kiss, she’s seen as a liar and incongruent. After you’re done kissing her, he’ll then give her a grade that’s lower than the one she gave herself, to get her to qualify to him and communicate that he’s the one judging her and therefore has the high standard.
He also said that women like guys who challenge them. Anything you can do to get a woman to qualify to you is a good thing, because that’s when they are wanting and reaching for your approval (after all, you’re the one who’s setting the challenge).
And finally, he said that women like guys who have a strong reality. How do you have a strong reality? By defining the underlying meaning of the interaction as you being the prize. You also want to control the frame. You know you’re controlling the frame because you’ll be the person doing the least work in the interaction (ie: they’re the one’s trying to engage you). Swingg elaborated that you want to focus on yourself and give the woman directions and take a strong lead. You want to bring them into your story. You do this by taking the spotlight in the interaction and not asking too many questions. He said you always want to bring her into your world when you meet a woman.

After Swinggcat came a guest speaker I was not familiar with. His real name was Eric, but he goes by “Hypnotica,” and is a friend of Steve Piccus, the unsung godfather of the seduction community. A lot of the concepts that Steve Piccus developed were the basis of a great many things we now take for granted.
Hypnotica really lived up to his name. The guy is the very definition of a Man. He reminded me of Wolverine from the X-Men movies. He had an extremely large presence, and when he was up on stage, he OWNED the room. Hypnotica is a hypno-therapist, and talked a great deal about energy and other wu-wu stuff. But when he talked about it, it actually made a lot of sense. In a way, it reflected what Amber had shared with the seminar on Day Two, but was much more relatable due to Hypnotica’s stage presence.
He talked about how masculine energy is nothingness, and feminine energy is love, and how the ultimate goal of the feminine is to open up the infinite and embrace the nothingness of the male. He described anxiety as misused energy, and how you have to give yourself the flexibility to fail.
He talked about the mediocre man’s existence, and how mediocre men enjoy nothingness. Then women enter in, and the mediocre man buys into their energy. They move to the masculine extreme of nothingness and lose their way.
Hypnotica described the job of the man as opening up the woman to nothingness and God. He said in order to do this, you must know your life’s purpose and take time to practice and think about life.
I know in reading this, you guys are probably thinking “this sounds like complete bullshit,” and in reading it myself, I agree with you. But Hypnotica’s presence was so powerful, you could FEEL what he was getting at when he talked about this. I really believe this will come through if his section makes it onto the final product.
To give you an idea how powerful his presence is, I’ll share an anecdote with you from the seminar. At one point, an attendee got up and asked a question. The attendee was rambling a bit, and Hypnotica boomed out “STOP! What is your purpose?” The guy froze, and tried to answer, but again, Hypnotica replied “STOP! What is your purpose?” His presence was so powerful, the attendee started shaking and tried to reply. Again, Hypnotic said to him “STOP! WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE!” Seriously, everyone thought the attendee was going to cry. It reminded me of a scene from the movie Fight Club where Brad Pitt has a convenience store clerk on his knees with a gun to his head, and changes the guy’s reality. That’s what Hypnotica did. He pulled the guy’s life purpose right out of him and gave him a powerful direction to move in. it was quite powerful.
Then, Steve Piccus took the stage, and the two men took the seminar through a guided visualization layered with hypnotic suggestions. It was quite a relaxing part of the seminar, and Hypnotica told a great story involving a hunter, a unicorn, and a lion that will be important later on in the recap. This was a very trippy presentation, and had I been high, I’m sure it would have changed my life. As it was, I just ended up falling asleep. Whether that was from the hypnosis or the lack of sleep the night before, I’ll probably never know.

I highly recommend you guys check both of these things out, especially if you have an interest in hypnosis and NLP.
So next up was the big coup de grace for the seminar, and that is the Real Social Dynamics crew! David D got up on stage and gave a big buildup for the guys, then introduced Tyler Durden, who told everyone about RSD and what they’re up to and what they’re about. He then introduced PlayboyLA, who took the stage.
PlayboyLA was probably the most profound of the RSD guest speakers. If there was a guy out there who didn’t know anything about this stuff, he’s have been wowed by PlayboyLA’s speech. First thing PlayboyLA did was do an entire 10 minute set with nothing but canned material. It was extremely smooth and polished from one story to the other, and he performed it as if he was sarging an HB on sunset. He also spun an impromptu routine from the story about the hunter, the unicorn, and the lion Hypnotica shared with the group. It was truly a sight to see, and really set the bar high for the other presenters who came after him.
PlayboyLA talked about building Material and Routines. He said that at the beginning stage, you want to keep your material light and fun and short. For the middle game, you want to keep to cocky/funny routines for the attraction phase, but as you pass into the comfort phase, you want to make them longer, keep them funny, but they have to start demonstrating personality and give a glimpse into your life, while opening the way for you to start light kino. For the end game, he said your routines have to build a connection with the girl and lead them into a more sexual/seduction mindset, while you escalate things both physically and emotionally.
He said that you MUST build tension when doing your routines in order to get attraction, and to reframe everything the girl says so it’s cocky/funny and you’re leading the process.
PlayboyLA’s talk was fantastic, and gave a lot of great information. It was a real highlight of Day 4. Next up, he introduced the one, the only… PAPA!
Papa hopped up on stage and talked briefly about how to be an effective wingman. Papa isn’t much of a public speaker though, so he seemed a little awkward up there, but held his own well. Most of his talk was on lifestyle, and how the RSD crew lives their lives. He talked about Project Hollywood, which he said has been upgraded to Project Mayhem (a-la Fight Club) where they’re trying to get guys around the world to get awesome houses close to their city’s nightlife so they can life the life of the Pick-Up Artist. I won’t be surprised if Papa’s talk got cut, because though it was interesting, it shared little in the way of tips and tactics that would be useful for the guy who wants to learn to get better than women, so don’t be surprised if it’s not in the final product.
Next up was The One and his regular wingman Dreamweaver, also known as RSD’s “Top Gun Wings.” The took the stage with great gusto and energy, and their entire talk centered around what it means to be a good wingman and help your buddy score. I found this talk to be extremely interesting, since they had a great deal of fantastic information to help guys support each other while in set.
The talked about how wingmen have to have rules, and that you and your wingman need to know the rules before interacting with women so you’re not stepping on each other’s feet and getting upset with each other. They said the first rule of a good wing is:
“Whoever opens a set, controls the set, and gets his choice of the target.”
That means, the guy who does the hard work and opens the set not only gets to pick the girl he goes after, but he also takes the lead in the set. So the wingman is there to support him, and tackle any UGS or Obstacles within the set.
Probably the most important thing The One and Dreamweaver had to share was that you have to act like your wing is the coolest guy ever. You have to make him out to be simply AWESOME, just as cool as you are. They also said that you should always laugh at what your wing thinks is funny, which is really important in supporting your wing. Act like he is the funniest, coolest guy in the world. Always support your wing.
I got a lot of great stuff from The One and Dreamweaver’s talk, and it is really important for you guys out there who go out with other guys on a regular basis to sarge to learn this stuff. There’s lots more, but I won’t go into detail here (buy the product, fellas), but I will say this is a part of the presentation where I got a lot of new tactics from.
Next up was a real treat, not just for me, but the audience as well, and that was from the TWO-MOTHERFUCKING-DASH-SIX!!!! Yes, that’s right ladies and gentlemen, we’re not worthy! We’re not worthy! We are in the presence of the one and only Twentysix!!!
Twentysix took the stage and instantly lived up to all the hype that surrounds him. Not only is Twentysix the most genuine guy out there, but he is also one of the funniest! If you guys have not picked up his interview with David D yet, you need to do that NOW!
So Twentysix took the stage and instantly had the audience roaring with laughter. He talked about how he goes out four times a week, and if you want to get good, you gotta start approaching regularly. But the biggest part of his talk was on roleplaying and using props. He talked about how you want to roleplay that the girl is a total dweeb and you’re the coolest guy in the world.
He used a cigarette case to act like it was the girl, and talked in a very funny “girl voice” making it sound like the chick is completely retarded. He also said a fun thing to do is grab something, pretend it’s a microphone, and sing a song about the girl. He demonstrated with a spoon and bounced around the stage singing…
“Marry… Marry is retard-ed… my name’s Mary and I’m a lose-er! Look at me, I’m a loser and my name’s Mar-ry!”
That’s not a direct quote, but you get the picture. When Twentysix did it, it was funny, trust me. He also likes to do that when a girl’s on a cell phone. He’ll go up beside them, act like he’s on a cell phone, and imitate the girl. But when he talks on his phone, he’ll say stuff in his “girl voice” like “Meeeehhhh! I’m stupid! My name’s Mary and I’m stupid!”
He also likes to play games with girls. One of them is “Fuck, Marry, Kill” which is a game he got from listening to the Howard Stern show. You play it by pointing out three guys in the club and telling her “You have to fuck one of them, marry one of them, and kill one of them. Which one would you do what to?”
He’ll also do stuff like ask a girl for her cell phone and start playing games on it in front of her. He also likes to play slap hands with girls, and give them noogies and Indian sunburns and other stupid stuff. Twentysix was also big on recall humor, and said to keep bringing up stuff that was funny earlier in the interaction, because it’s still gonna be funny (and creates a connection by putting it in the realm of “in joke”).
He also shared a real novel way to use your cell phone, and how your cell phone, as a prop, can be your best wingman ever. You can act like you are the MAN on the cell phone, walk around the club demanding outrageous stuff on the cell, like you’re having a really intense conversation:
“No, you tell Spielberg you shove it! This movie is getting made TOMORROW!”
He also said that if you’re at a club alone, instead of just sitting in a corner with your drink, whip out your cell and act like you’re talking on it. It will make you look less pathetic, because it’s natural to be alone when talking on the phone.
Twentysix had other great things to share, and introduced Xaneus before leaving the stage.
For those of you who don’t know who Xaneus is, he’s one of the guy’s living at Project Hollywood. Well, not really. He actually lives in a tent in Project Hollywood’s backyard. I hereby dub him with the new nick-name “Nature Boy X.”
Anyway, Xaneus takes the stage and talks about application of cocky/funny stuff. He shared a few anecdotes of pick-ups he’s done. He was pretty awkward on stage though, and kept breathing into his microphone. After a while, it sounded like Darth Vader was in the room (only this time, it sounded more like “Pooo-Ahh, Poo-Ahh” when he breathed). I don’t think Xaneus will be kept in the final product because his talk was light on tactics in addition to all the audio problems caused by him breathing into the mic.
Lastly was Sickboy, the last superstar of RSD. Sickboy has also done an interview with David D, and had a very laid back presentation on stage. He talked about the picture routine, and how you take self-portraits with girls. He also talked about how powerful it is to make fun of a girl’s mannerisms (Best Friends Test, Girl Code, Accusing them of having ADD). He also talked about Body Language, and how you want to be laid back and approaching at an angle. He shared that the best way to get women engaged really quickly is to bust on them.
Sickboy wasn’t on stage for too long, because much of the typical RSD tactics had already been covered. He entertained a question or two before leaving the stage.

The Bad
Not too much bad on Day Four as the seminar was winding down. I found Orion’s interview to be a bit unstructured and lacking any substantial information, but a DYD seminar without Orion is like going to a movie without popcorn. It’s just unnatural.
Some of the people had a hard time with Hypnotica’s presentation, probably because the sour taste of the Amber experience was still fresh in their mouths. But a lot of people were more tolerant of what Hypnotica had to say. Many agreed that Hypnotica’s speech before the guided visualization was actually really good and had a lot of interesting stuff in it. It was kind-of weird to see such a manly guy talk about wu-wu stuff though.
As I mentioned before, both Papa’s and Xaneus’s talks will probably be cut because they didn’t have much good information in them that can be applied to people outside the community.
One thing I was surprised about was how much the RSD crew actually shared with the audience. I was actually sinking in my seat at certain points because they were giving away such good stuff (and stuff I use regularly). Before long, we’re gonna have thousands of guys using David Bowie, Best Friends Test, Who Lies More, etc., etc. I wish they had given away some new stuff so I wouldn’t have to go out and learn some new routines, damn them!
The Ugly
Not a whole lot of ugly this day either. I overheard David D talking to someone about how he was worried that Hypnotica and Steve Piccus’s thing was wierding out the audience. The friend David D was talking to joked about why Steve Piccus always has to talk about unicorns in some fashion or another.
The biggest Ugly of the day was Rick H making fun of the RSD guys on stage. He could be seen in the back of the room making quips about them, and later on in the hallway (particularly about Xaneus living in a tent, but hey the guys still gets laid, so what does that say about his skill? YOU GO NATURE BOY X!!!!). Of course, after hanging out with Rick the night before, I realize this is just Rick, who busts everyone’s balls. Of course, there might be a twinge of jealousy there, but oh well.
One of the things I was surprised to learn was how much Hypnosis/NLP stuff PlayboyLA uses in his material. I talked to him about it afterwards and he revealed to me that he had a background in SS before he got into RSD. After seeing him in action a few times, I can say without a doubt that PlayboyLA is the only person I’ve seen who can combine so many different styles of pick-up so successfully. Probably one of the reasons he’s so good!
There were also rumors of a drug-induced outing after the seminar involving one of the Guest Speakers, but I won’t mention who that was since I wasn’t there to see it for myself.
David X also showed up after the seminar ended and mingled with a few of the guys for a while.
My Experience
It was a bittersweet ending to the DYD Master’s Seminar for me. I had a great time and loved meeting and hanging out with everyone there. It was like a big vacation for me. But I was also exhausted and looking forward to getting back to my normal life.
After the seminar, Mystery, Herbal, Little Big Dick, and a friend of Herbal’s all went out to dinner. We were eventually joined by Dreamweaver and The One, and had a great meal while unwinding from the weekend’s events.
Overall, this seminar was really, really good. The quality of the speakers was mixed, but the good certainly outweighed the bad. In the finished product, I’m sure the wheat will be separated from the chaff. I can’t wait to see how the finished product ends up, and I think it will be a great resource for everyone looking to take their game to the next level. I can’t wait to see it for myself, and look forward to doing a review of it for my site. David D told everyone that the Masters Series would probably be out in about two months, and will go for around $400 for audio and around $500 for the DVDs. Personally, I think it’s a fair price for the wealth of information that will be in this series. Hell, the Mystery, Swinggcat, and RSD portions are worth the price alone.

DYD Masters Recap, Day 3

Okay, more DYD stuff for all of you today, and you’re in for a special treat.
As I said before, I thought Day 1 was really good, but Day 2 was horrible. However, in my opinion, Day 3 was the best of the best, and really blew any other seminar/product/what have you out of the water in my opinion. Why? Because of three things:
1. Mystery
2. Rick H
3. Major Mark Cunningham
That’s right! On Day three, you had the clash of the titans take the stage! The Trifecta of ultimate PUA knowledge in the universe was present at the DYD Masters seminar and in my opinion, totally REDEFINED what it means to be a master! You have Mystery, arguably the best pick-up artist in the world. You have the legendary Rick H, who’s prowess and exploits with women has yet to be matched, and you have Major Mark Cunningham, probably the leading hypnotist out there when it comes to restructuring belief systems.
After the horror that was Day 2, Day 3 comes in and totally redeems the Masters Seminar and sets the stage for what is to come.
So without further ado, onto Day 3 recap…
The Good
After Day 2, I really wasn’t that jazzed about going back to the seminar, but I knew that it was going to get better from here on out just because of the quality of the guest speakers that were going to take the stage. David D took the stage in the morning and revealed even more of his material, which was actually pretty racy, as I think he was gearing up for the speakers who were about to present some mind-blowing stuff.
David D talked about dominance, and the look of the killer. He discussed Sexual Communication as a primal way of communicating, using body language, voice tone, and abstract patterns of behavior. How it triggers strong physical and emotional responses directly, without the use of logic or reasoning.
He talked about elements of sexual communication, those being: Honest Signals, Status, Liking, how Super-Sized Friendship won’t work, and how Logic and Reasoning are the enemy.
He then talked about a four step process for Sexual Communication and how to gradually increase it. The first step is sparking attraction, the second is building sexual tension, the third is amplifying the attraction, and the fourth is physically advancing.
After David D finished talking about this, we breaked for lunch. People were definitely in better spirits than the day before. Swinggcat, Little Big Dick, one of the seminar attendees, and I all went to lunch and came back to the seminar refreshed and ready to go.
Mystery hadn’t been there in the morning, but when we came back, I saw him in the seminar room getting ready to go on stage. He was conspicuous in his “Non-Peacock” attire, instead wearing a nice business suit with his hair long, falling on his shoulders. He was, however, wearing his Amsterdam cowboy boots, so he wasn’t completely conforming.
I shook his hand briefly and wished him luck, then got ready to take a buttload of notes because I knew Mystery was gonna get rolling once up on stage. After everyone took their seats, David D got up on stage and gave Mystery a really great introduction. Mystery hopped up on stage and instantly owned the room, and David D let him have the stage all to himself. The first thing he did was some slight of hand with some Listerine breath strips while talking about who he was (disappearing breath strips, mystery, get it?).
As Mystery got into his spiel, I almost forgot I was at a DYD seminar. Mystery’s presentation style is so animated and funny and interesting that you just get lost in what he shares with you. He was up on stage with spotlights glaring, using the oversized easel-pads to write on, and for a minute, you began to think that this was Mystery’s seminar and not David D’s. This is where he belonged, on stage in front of hundreds of people. Obviously, he’s had a lot of practice being a magician, but his energy as a public speaker is amazing, and lets you know the potential he has to be a real force in the self-help market.
Mystery talked about the fallacy of “being yourself.” He told the audience that if what you’re doing isn’t working, you need to change yourself so that it IS working.
He then wrote out his model for pick-up on stage. For those of you who don’t know how Mystery Method breaks down, its really intricate, but for the initial pick-up, it’s a three step method:
Mystery talked about the mistakes most guys do when picking up a woman, and how you need to follow a linear course of action when doing so if you want to successfully get her.
He started by talking about Seduction, and how if you start with seduction, you rely on fool’s mate to get laid (ie; Getting “Lucky”). By skipping attraction and comfort, you might be able to get a chick, but you’ll encounter a lot of last minute resistance and high buyer’s remorse. Mystery talked about how most guys just want to get to the Seduction stage fast and ignore everything else. He went on to elaborate…
Mystery: “I see two problems with this way of thinking. And that’s “Speed” and “Seduction.”
At that, everyone cracked-up. Huge laughter and applause. Of course, you could see David DeAngelo visibly cringe in the back of the room at this joke. Mystery made a few other references to SS and MINE’99 during his talk, and each time it looked like David D had gotten punched in the fuckin’ face, Jlaix style, knowing he’s going to have to figure out a way to cut that stuff out of his final product.
Mystery talked about comfort, and how every AFC uses that stage to try and get a girl. Women deal with this stage all the time, and have protection (or “bitch”) shield issues with it.
He then spoke about how you need to start off every interaction with a girl with attraction, and after attraction you must qualify her by asking her questions.
But as important as attraction is, Mystery pointed out that the game is played in the “Comfort” stage of the interaction, and that it usually takes 7 hours from meet to close (ie: sex). That’s an average. It can take anywhere between 4 to 10 hours, but usually 7 (6 hours of which are in Comfort).
He went on to break down his method like this:
Each phase has three smaller stages.
Attraction
1. Open
2. Female to Male Attract (Make the woman attracted to us first)
3. Male to Female Attract (Find out what qualities she possesses and then use those to tell her you’re attracted to her)
Comfort
4. Comfort 1 (Build Rapport)
5. Comfort 2 (Go for phone number, build intimacy, hand holing, kino, etc)
6. Comfort 3 (Heavy intimacy, kissing, making out)
Seduction
7. Arousal
8. Last Minute Resistance
9. Sex
Mystery said because of time, he’s only going to focus on “Opening” and “Female to Male Attract” phase. The first thing he talked about was Opening. Mystery said that on the average, groups of 3 (3-sets) are the best to open. You have to initiate the chat in a way where you don’t alienate the men/ugs/friends of your target.
Mystery then called Tyler Durden up to the stage to demonstrate a few “canned” Openers. Tyler came up and did the David Bowie Opener and one other one (forget what it was). Tyler and Mystery then got into a fake AMOG battle on stage which was amusing to those that knew what they were doing, but confusing to everyone else. Mystery got in the last word as Tyler sat back down at his seat.
Mystery then took that opportunity to plug my book, The Art of Approaching, and said that he recommends it to anyone who wants to get good at Opening. This was extremely flattering to me, and I hope David D keeps it in his final product, as I could use the advertising, lol.
Mystery also took the opportunity to brag about Mystery’s Lounge, and how it’s a message board with around 80 of the best Ladies Men in the world all exchanging ideas and tactics on success with women, business, and health. If that makes it into the final product, you can bet there will be billions of searches for Mystery’s Lounge and people begging to get in. Makes those of us who are members feel more than a little self-important, I admit. =)
The next step to Opening was to install a “plotline.” Basically, Mystery said that you want to convince others that you and the target don’t get along. By not getting along with your target, you engage the others in the group. He also spoke about how you have to have your own style. He recommended being enthusiastic about what you talk about (enthusiasm is contagious). You have to possess a strong identity and convey that Identity quickly.
The most important thing Mystery said was that you have to practice your skills out in the field. He said some routines are too long to Open with, so you start with short ones and move into longer ones. He made the distinction that you are a performing artist and have to get good at delivering your material before your audience.
Now, I have, literally, 6-7 pages of notes on what Mystery covered, and what he was talking about was SO good, that David D gave him some extra time on stage. Mystery got into comfort building and a variety of other topics, but I’m not gonna get into them here. Mystery had a huge round of applause after getting off stage. Next up, David D had another female come and join him on stage. This woman actually WAS Marie, from his interview series, who wrote the book “How to Make Women Like You.” This interview was very different from the Amber one. For once, David D actually seemed to have RAPPORT with one of his guests (novel idea, I know, lol). Marie and David were completely at ease with each other and actually had some playful banter going.
David talked about how he was contacted by Marie and how their relationship grew over the phone. He also recounted how he first met her in New York at the bar she worked at, and an intentionally cheesy pick-up he did on her to introduce himself. It was a funny little anecdote, and set the stage for the interview.
Listening to Marie talk was a breath of fresh air after the miserableness that was Amber. Marie really seemed to understand the male way of thinking and was able to bridge the gap between that and her female sensibilities really well. She talked about how a lot of women out there have low-self esteem and are looking for relationships.
One of her tips was that you should take age into consideration when trying to get a woman. The older women go for relationship stuff much easier than the younger girls who are more interested in partying.
She said that nothing is more attractive than a man with a strong sense of self. Usually, women don’t know where guys are coming from or where they stand on what they believe in. They want someone who’s clear about his values, how he spends his time, and what he believes in. Being able to systematically convey who you are conveys integrity (which made more sense than Amber’s “pushing through honey” exercise to bring that forth).
She also discussed that women notice details, like shoes. And that if you ever want to engage a woman in conversation, just talk about shoes since it’s a favorite subject of many women.
She also discussed that nothing is more qualifying to women than having other women around you. If you have lots of female friends, the woman you’re with is going to be more insecure and try harder to make you happy. If she’s the only woman in your life, you start to look less attractive in the long run.
Again, I got lots of stuff on this, but I can’t get to it all here. If you’re interested in hearing more of what Marie has to say (and its good stuff), you can buy her book, or better yet, buy the Masters Series when it comes out in a few months.
So after a quick break, now it was time for a special, special treat. That of the Legendary RICK H!!!!!!
Some of you may recognize Rick H from the DYD Advanced Series. Rick H was also a big star in the SS world, which is where his legend status really grew. Rick H was known for having some mad skills with bisexual women, and is on the record as having gotten 5 women into bed at the same time.
When I first saw Rick, I was surprised. I remember seeing a picture of him back in 2000, and he had gained a little weight since then. But as soon as he started talking, it was the same old Rick we all know and love.
David D got up on stage and started interviewing his long time friend and former room mate. Rick talked a lot about his amazing philosophy on how to get good with women, but I won’t go into that here (buy the product, fellas). But the real meat of his interview was his talk on how he gets Bisexual women.
Mystery asked Rick to elaborate on his process of how to pick-up bisexual chicks and get them into threesomes.
The first thing that Rick said is that “All women are bisexual.” (which he undoubtedly got from that PUA wiz Tari) But that there is a labeling issue and most women don’t want to be called bisexual. He said the reason for this is that most guys make a big deal about a woman being into girls, and he says don’t do that. Treat the fact that she’s bisexual the same way you’d treat the fact that she knows how to cook. If you’re comfortable with it and you can speak about it like it’s not a big deal and it’s natural, then it is.
Rick said that he’s at a stage where he won’t even ask the girls if they’re bisexual. He’ll just ask them “What kind of girls do you like?” Again, if it’s not a big deal to you, it won’t be to them.
He said the biggest mistake most men make is that they’ll rush into a threesome. He said that the primary partner has to feel comfortable she’s not gonna get dumped when she brings a girl home for you. Make sure she understands she’s the primary in the relationship, and that you can’t pay more attention to the second girl. If you pay more attention to your primary and she’s comfortable, she’s gonna want to do it more because there’s good emotions attached to it. Rick says don’t worry about pleasing the other girl, just make sure the primary is pleased.
He then went into his steps for getting bisexual women. I won’t get too in depth here because of time, space, and energy, but it can all be found in the Masters Series when it comes out. Basically, Rick’s process is:
1. Ask the question “Are you bisexual”
2. Get her to point out girls she thinks are cute
3. Set the frame you’re someone who enjoys the fantasy with her.
4. Talk about her past experiences with women
5. Make this a fantasy for HER
6. Establish a relationship with the primary and then find a secondary girl
7. Don’t get jealous or insecure
After Rick was done, Major Mark got up on stage. His talk was ALL about beliefs and trance work. It was funny, because up on stage, I felt like I was listening to MINE’99. It’s like they have the same speech patterns. I was instantly catching all the weasel phrases, imbedded commands, and anchors Major Mark was using in his speech.
Major Mark was also cursing enough to make a sailor blush. Every other word was “fuck” or “fucking.” But he had such an energy on stage that no one really minded the potty mouth.
The good Major talked about state control, and that if you have an handle on state control, at any given time you can feel any emotion you want. So if you’re feeling bad, if you can control your state, you can instantly slip into feeling good. He said the trick to this is being outside your head and feeling calm, relaxed, and playful (all of which he presented as imbedded commands, btw).
He went on to discuss Limiting Beliefs. He said that everyone only has 1 limiting belief, and that is that they believe there are things called “limiting beliefs.” He said beliefs don’t exist, rather, they are thought forms that were not in existence until you created them. He said you CHOOSE to have a limiting belief, and that every moment of the day, all you’re doing is rehearsing that limitation.
Major Mark says that you are in direct control of what you believe, and that it only takes you 1 time to learn something. If it takes you more than once to learn something, you’re learning the wrong thing. For instance, he asked if you’ve ever touched a hot stove, and then asked how many times it took you to learn not to touch a hot stove. Once. Point illustrated.
He said “Don’t practice failing. Practice success. If you go into trance (imbedded command) and practice success (another imbed), it will work (future projection).”
Major Mark also talked about trance work, and how reality is infinitely malleable. I’d go deeper into what he talked about, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t do it justice (plus, this review is getting crazy long!). I know Major Mark has another seminar coming up soon. The Bad
There was very little bad this day, since the guest speakers were all so amazing and David D seemed to be finding his stride and getting relaxed presenting material. One thing was that David D spent most of the morning on Day 3 doing damage control over Amber and explaining to the audience why what she was saying was relatable to life and dating. Many of the students began to understand why he had her in the seminar, but almost everyone would have liked it if David had presented this material BEFORE Amber took the stage.
Another bad, and this is just a personal one, was that I wish Rick H had more stage time. I would have liked it if David had gotten him to talk about more of his exploits and philosophy with women, since it was so fascinating. But I hear he plans on interviewing him for his Interview Series, so maybe it’ll get more in depth there.
The Ugly
Not a whole lot of Ugly, but some noteworthy ones. The first of which was Mystery’s AMOG battle with Tyler up on stage. I don’t think Mystery was consciously doing it, but he really tooled Tyler up there. First of all, he got Tyler up on stage and made him his performance monkey by telling him to recite Openers for the crowd. It seemed like Tyler may have been a bit apprehensive doing it, but he did so anyway. Mystery definitely had the power in the dynamic on stage, and this wasn’t more apparent than when the AMOGing started.
At first, Mystery had the upper hand in the AMOG battle, but Tyler quickly recovered and started tooling Mystery and his presentation. Mystery then said Tyler wins the battle, kicked him off stage, then got in the last word once he had the stage back to himself. I don’t think it was a malicious thing, or intentional on Mystery’s part. I read it that he was so comfortable on stage, that he was just goofing around with a friend of his (they do this sort of thing all the time in private). However, it was obvious Tyler was aware that this was being recorded for posterity and didn’t want to get into it with Mystery.
I think this little exchange also affect Tyler’s final presentation, because Mystery set such a power standard, that up on stage, even though RSD and Tyler are now the stars of DYD, Tyler looked second fiddle to Mystery. When I talked to Mystery about this later on, he told me that wasn’t his intention when he did it, but that’s how it came off looking like in the long run in my humble opinion.
Another little tid-bit of gossip was that there were a number of RSD guys at the seminar on Saturday for Day 3. Sickboy, The One, Xaneus, PlayboyLA, and Papa were all present, in addition to Twentysix, Orion, and Tyler. Of special note were the “mini-Papas” also known as the RSD interns.
At one point, The One and Twentysix were outside the seminar room manning the table for the RSD workshop sign up, which was opposite the DYD seminar check-in table being manned by one of David D’s employees. In true form, The One and Twentysix were talking about jerking off, and the various tactics they employ in doing so. The One prefers a vitamin rich lube full of vitamins A, C, and D. “Not only is it practical, but it enriches your cock at the same time,” The One was quoted as saying. Twentysix, disagreed, and prefers to go after his rodney dry, focusing on the head and pumping furiously. Of course, this discussion escalated into a debate about which method of flounder pounding was better, and seemed to offend the DYD employee manning the door. He complained to David D, who in turn scolded The One and Twentysix about jerking off in public places.
Also of note, when Marie was speaking, she kept talking about how every one wants to find “The One.” Meaning, of course, that one special man. However, we all joked about the RSD instructor, The One, who’s nick-name finally made sense after years of everyone making fun of him for employing a third person imperative as his nic. It seems The One is very popular among the ladies world wide. =)
During the Major Mark speech, a few former SSers had to leave the room. I guess either they didn’t want to go into trance while listening to him, or there were too many negative anchors associated to the NLP stuff.
After the seminar ended, major Mark and Steve Piccus did an impromptu seminar on belief work that seemed to go over well. I’m told it lasted 4 hours and those who attended really got a lot out of it.
One thing I was surprised to learn was that PlayboyLA, one of the RSD Superstars (and an AMAING pick-up artist in his own right. Seriously, this guy gives Tyler a run for his money) was a former student of Major Mark. Very interesting.
My Experience
Damn, this is already a long article. And it’s about to get longer, considering I had some extremely interesting experiences this day.
I showed up late for the seminar (yet again) after a late night of drinking and sarging with my friends the night before, so I missed all the “damage control” talk David went through that morning.
But the fun really didn’t begin until after the seminar ended. That night, I went out to dinner with a big group of people from the seminar. Those present were: Mystery, Swinggcat, Merovingian, Herbal T, Little Big Dick, Craig, a few other guys from the seminar, and the Legendary Rick H. We all went to P.F.Changs, which is a Chinese restaurant in the Santa Monica area and had a big dinner. It was fun to see all these big time PUAs eating, laughing, and joking around with each other. Good times had by all, and no egos involved either (very different from the first night’s VIP dinner). It was all about having fun and being friends.
Of course, a few people started drinking at dinner and were getting rather tipsy as time went on, but that’s to be expected. Herbal T and Mystery were talking business, since Mystery’s presentation went over so well at the seminar. At the other end of the table, Craig, Rick H, and a few others were clowning around and exchanging stories about banging strippers. Mystery even made it a point to Pick-Up the hostess who was working at the time.
After diner was over, Mystery, Herbal, and a few others headed back home, while the rest of us hit the bars. We went to two different bars that night. I got to see Craig clown around a bit, which was awesome. He had a new trick where he’d act really into a girl and suddenly, when she was ready to talk, whip out his cell phone a scream “HEEEEYYYYY!!!! WUZ UUUUUUPPPPPPP????!!!!” and then act like he was obnoxiously talking into his cell, ignoring the girl. It was too fucking funny. He did this with one set I pulled over for him. Eventually, they got insulted and started walking away. Craig chased after them yelling “Hey guys! Guys wait! Wait!” As soon as they turned around and looked at him, he whipped out his cell again, backturned, and screamed “HEEEEYYYYY!!!!” Everyone watching this busted up laughing. The girls walked away emotionally destroyed. It was hilarious.
Eventually, I teamed up with Rick H and did a few sets. While walking around the bar, every ugly girl he’d see, he’d turn to me and say “Uh, dude, tell your girlfriend to stop following us around.” Turns out Rick H’s ball busting doesn’t stop with girls. It was funny shit though. I eventually pulled two girls over to him at the bar and got to see his game a bit. First thing he does is grab their palms, look them over, and trace his finger over them, saying “You got the sexual adventurism fork.” They of course ask what that means. He tells them “Well, it means one of three things. Those with the fork are either fetishists, exhibitionists, or… bisexual.” He then told them that they both have the forks.
The girls laughed. Rick H then did a full palm reading on the hot one. She seemed really into it. He then asked her “What kind of girls do you like?” She said “I’m not into girls. I like guys.” Rick responded “No, you just like guys more.” He probably could have gotten her if her friend hadn’t dragged her off, since the girl he was talking to (a really cute blond chick) seemed into it. After they were gone he started making fun of them for having fat asses (even though, at least in one of their cases, that wasn’t true).
I then talked to Rick a bit about Las Vegas, and I told him that last time I was out there, I kept running into prostitutes. I asked him if he’s ever gotten the hookers in Vegas into bed without paying, and he told me “all the time.” He talked about his system for doing it, where he’ll usually get them early in the night, before lots of business is thrown their way, and he’ll be really funny about it. If she says:
“I’m working.”
He’ll respond:
Rick: “Oh… yeah… um… well, you wanna know how to get a lot of customers?”
Her: “Sure.”
Rick: “Well, you need to get warmed up first. You’re too, uh, too normal right now. You gotta have sex. You gotta have sex and get warmed up. You have sex, you get all riled up, come back down to the casino stinking like sex, and guys will flock to you like bees to honey, honey. C’mon, let’s go, up to my room and get you warmed up.”
Her: (laughing) “Oh, I don’t know…”
Rick: “It’s good for you. It’s good for you. It’s in your own best interest. It’s in your own best interest. C’mon.”
Rick said that for some reason, the key to making it work is saying “It’s good for you,” and “It’s in your own best interest.” But you have to say them twice, otherwise it doesn’t work. He told me stories about how many prostitutes he’s gotten off the clock using that routine. This was really interesting because it works on many, many levels. First, it sets the frame that she’s “not on the clock,” quite yet. Second, it sets things up that you’re not a customer. Third, you set the frame that she needs to have sex before she can make money. And lastly, you have the dominant reality where it’s actually good for her (and on some level necessary) to sleep with you before she starts working. Genius.
I also asked Rick H about how he got those 5 girls into bed all at once (the act that made him a legend). He told me it happened at the Body Shop, which is a strip club off of Sunset Blvd. He said the trick was to bring two girls with him to the club. He sat them down at the stage and put dollars in front of them. The dancers up on stage would come up and dance for the girls. Then, after a little while of doing that, he pulled his two girls back to a table and waited. Eventually, the dancers that were on stage approached and started talking to the girls. Both his girls seduced a stripper each, and he got one as well, and got the three new girls back into his car. Once he got all 5 girls back to his place, the rest was history.
As Rick would say, “That is how the game is played, boys!”
I also asked Rick about David D’s skills with women. I had heard rumors that David D used to be really good with women, and that his skills have tapered off a bit. Rick totally refuted this (and I believe him, because he was drunk at the time we were talking). He said David D used to be amazing with women, and still is. He told me that David D’s last girlfriend was one of the hottest girls he’d ever seen (and coming from Rick H, that means a LOT!).
As the night was winding down, we all headed back to my car. Somewhere along the way, a member of out party got separated from the group. Just as we all got in my car, I get a call on my phone. It’s the guy we lost. Turns out he picked up on two girls who were giving him a ride from two girls to my car, but couldn’t remember where we parked. I told him, and he handed me over to one of the girls.
I didn’t feel like talking to her, so I handed the phone over to Rick. Rick picks it up and the first thing he says is:
“Hello, Domino Pizza!”
We all start laughing. Rick continues.
“You want pizza? Extra topping? Thick crust? Thick crust? You want cheesy bread?”
We could hear the girl on the other end trying to ask who he was and stuff, but Rick continued:
“You want chicken wing? No extra hot, you get wing. You eat. No check! No check! No bouncy-bouncy!”
It just got worse from there. Rick continued this routine for a good 5-7 minutes until the girls arrived with our buddy. By then we all had tears in our eyes from laughter. It was one hell of a fun night.
I ended up driving everyone back to their cars and going home for the night, thinking it couldn’t get any better than Day 3. I was right, but Day 4 came aweful, aweful close…

Hey everyone,
Glad to see my recap of the first day got such a great response. I appreciate all types of feedback, the good and the bad, so keep it coming.
As I’m writing these reviews, I’m often reminded of watching a movie trilogy of some type. Usually, the second episode in a movie series is the darkest of the storyline, and I guess it’s no different here, since Day Two of the seminar was definitely the worst, in my opinion. But like all good stories, it has to get bad before it can get good, and when it does get good (and boy, does it!), the highs are higher than you ever imagined.
So with that in mind, here’s my recap of the second day of the DYD Masters seminar. I tried to keep things balanced, but I’m sure my disappointment at this day will come through loud and clear. Keep in mind, most of what I’m writing are my own personal views and opinions on things, and shouldn’t be taken as fact or reflect what the final DYD product is going to be like. Just so we’re clear on that, let’s get on to the meat of my recap…
Day 2
The Good
So Day Two of the Double Your Dating Mastery seminar rolls around, and everyone meets it with a great sense of excitement and optimism after the high of the first day. Of course, Tyler and the other RSD instructors present were visibly tired from their late-night workshop that most likely ran into the wee hours of the morning, yet they were still present to learn some of the great new concepts David D was sure to share with us that day.
David D didn’t disappoint. He had tons and tons of great information to cover. Nothing really groundbreaking or new, but solid info that’s more than good enough to recap.
One of the major concepts Daivd D introduced, and this was something I’ve been hearing from Swinggcat for the past year, was that in addition to making friends with 5 guys who are good at meeting women, you want to make friends with at least 3 very attractive women. Attractive, as in, attractive to YOU! David D talked about how having attractive female friends can help out a guy on so many levels, and he went on to talk about how people make other people their friends (for the TRUE losers out there who really have NOBODY in their life).
David D broke this down to having some sort of “Inner Bond” with them. He listed six characteristics that can help create this inner bond. A lot of what he had to say dealt with finding or creating commonalities between people. Things like “having a common oppressor,” and “sharing secrets” and the like. I found this section interesting because it is really fascinating how people make friends with each other, and why some people are friends and some aren’t.
David D also talked about “Honest Signals” and how you can communicate to women that you are being straight with them and genuine. This harkened back a bit to David X’s talk the night before, but not too much.
The next topic up was on Approaching, a subject I’m very interested in as you all know. For the most part, David D talked about ineffective approaches and what men do WRONG when first talking to a woman. Things like trying to get approval by giving it, calling and writing too often, giving too much, selling far too in advance, and not paying attention to the woman are all things that can botch an otherwise good approach. But the most interesting thing he talked about in this subject were the signs that a woman is looking for a man.
Basically, if an attractive woman seems unhappy, it’s often connected to her relationship, and this means she’s open to other men who may present a better choice for her. He also pointed out that if an attractive woman continues to spar with you when you’re teasing her, it’s usually a big signal that she’s happy and available. I’d like to get more into this, because it’s fascinating stuff, but you’re going to have to buy the course to find out more. (suffer, dudes)
David D shared with the seminar attendees his 5 foundations of success, which were: Language, Communication, Sales, Marketing, and Public Speaking. He elaborated on all five of these principals and how they relate to all aspects of life, be it women or business. In talking to some of the marketing gurus that were in attendance at the seminar, I got the impression that marketing is not much different from meeting women. You have a target/customer, you communicate and entice them for your product, and you get them to want to have it.
Finally, David D shared with us his age-old concept of “Reverse Rapport.” This goes back to the old days when he used to post on Cliff’s List as Sisonpyh with his concept of “breaking rapport,” which would put the burden on the other person to try and gain rapport in the interaction. Reverse Rapport is basically when you say and do the opposite of what someone might do who’s trying to make someone like them, but all in a sarcastic, overly serious way that assumes rapport.
Overall, David shared some kick-ass awesome stuff with us this day. But unfortuneately, all the good stuff quickly got forgotten about once the guest speakers started…
The Bad
Okay, so I covered all the Good that took place on Friday, the second day of the seminar. Now it’s time to touch on the bad, and overall, Day 2 was probably the WORST day of the seminar, bar none. It really had nothing to do with David D himself, especially since he seemed to be loosening up from the day before and not snapping as much, though he did have a tendency to harshly make fun of a few of the seminar attendees on stage, but that didn’t happen often enough to make it a big deal.
Where the whole thing started to unravel was with the two Guest Speakers that were there to share their views on Dating, Seduction, and what have you. Now, I’m a pretty open minded guy (at least, I like to think so), but these two speakers really tested the boundaries of my bullshit limits. It was so bad, that many of the invited speakers were seriously considering not coming back for Day 3, especially since a good deal of them did not like David X’s interview all that much.
The first blow was with Tari, who’s Interview CD came out last month. It’s obvious why women go for him. He’s an archetype I’ve seen many times before. The cool, aloof, artsy, woman trapped in a good looking man’s body. He’s very much the Dandy, but the type of Dandy that women fall in love with, marry, and wake up ten years later to find that he’s been pumping other dudes in the ass all along while lying to himself that he likes chicks.
Seriously, this guy was G-A-Y. Even three dollar bills would have thought this guy was way beyond a flamer. Up on stage, he announced to everyone that he’s a self-professed metrosexual. Which is okay, I guess, but when you combine being a metrosexual with limp-wristed wu-wu mentality, you get a dude straight out of West Hollywood, which is exactly where this Tari guy seemed to belong.
I had heard a bit of Tari’s interview the week before, as Swinggcat played it in his car as we were on our way to a club. He sounded Gay even then, with his effeminate voice and soft spoken-tone. His voice almost reminded me of Orion’s to a certain extent. But that parallel with Orion didn’t stop there. After listening to him speak, it became clear that Tari would make the perfect poster-boy for “Rapid Romance.”
His philosophy was very much about telling women how you feel and express yourself to them. He does have a bit of cocky/funny and other tactics in his game, but this stuff is so basic, it made people’s eyes roll. Pretty much the PUA equivalent of listening to a kindergartener reciting his ABCs.
The part of the interview that this was most obvious was when Tari turned to the audience and said “Here’s something that I’ve just discovered which is truly amazing. And that’s that the more women I’ve been with, the more I realize that… all women are bisexual!”
This caused more than a few groans in the audience. The dude’s big revelation was one that has been talked about in this community for years, and he’s just now coming to that realization? Did he even bother to listen to the DYD Advanced Series with Rick H? Most likely, it’s not that all women are bisexual, it’s that most of the women he’s with are lesbians who mistake him for a hot chick.
Tari also continued the David X tradition of joking about ass fucking, which had a slightly different connotation when Tari did it because most of the guys in the audience were getting the impression that he’s been pumped more than once in his time. He talked about an inside joke he and a friend of his came up with regarding UPS’s add campaign “Where will Brown take you?” and how they related it to anal sex after a session of “healthy banter.” (One of my favorite quotes of the seminar was someone who said “Men don’t have Healthy Banter. If you have Healthy Banter, you’re a fag.”) His friend was dubbed “The King of Brown,” since apparently he gets so much anal sex. Tari never clarified whether that anal sex was with women, though.
This sparked a big in-joke within the crowd about using the word “Brown” to refer to things or other guys as Gay. “Oh, those shoes are so BROWN!” “Yo bro, that joke is BROWN.” “Hey man, you putting your cock in my ass is much too BROWN for my liking.” “This guest speaker is totally BROWN.” You get the picture.
Anyway, David D tried to make a joke of it and get away from the ass fucking topic, but Tari seemed to persist like it was his favorite thing in the world (I wouldn’t put it past him). The rapport David D had with Tari made his interview with David X seem like they had known each other for years. It was obvious that the two of them really had nothing to talk about or connect on. Finally, David left the stage and let Tari ramble on. Tari had a few good things to share, but he was creating a lot of confusion in the audience because much of it seemed to go against the David D philosophy on so many levels. It was almost like listening to a chick talk about what she likes to do with her girlfriends.
Tari also talked about how he is a dancer, and how that gets him lots of chicks. I could almost imagine Tari busting into the club “Brian Boytano” style with his chick-magnet rallying cry of “I’m STHUPER! Thanks for ATHKING!” The worst was when he talked about how he made a living, which was selling journals on e-bay. These were big, bulky, leather bound, Italian, hand-made journals which David D was helping him hock. One of the marketing guys there dubbed them the “Harry Potter books” since they seemed like they were a prop from the movie. However, no one cared about them. It was something that girls would love to buy, but straight guys would have no interest in.
As Tari rambled on, most of us in the audience were suffering through his chick-logic induced thought patterns. When it finally got to the point that the seminar attendees got to ask questions, Tari became even more useless as he wasn’t really able to answer anyone who questioned him with useful information. Finally, David D got him off stage and gave the audience a much needed break.
During the break, me and a few other guys talked about how bad this speaker was, and how it simply couldn’t get any worse than Tari. But things were looking on the up and up with the next guest speaker, which was a really hot little blonde woman. Many people thought this was Marie, from David D’s interview series, and were really looking forward to hearing her speak. Unfortunately, we were all dead wrong.
The woman was actually a girl named Amber (I forget her last name). She was a former assistant to Tony Robins and also in good with a guy named David Data, who wrote a book called “The Way of the Superior Man.” She was dressed in an odd little black corset which prominently displayed her breasts. Amber definitely knew how to move her body (she moved like a stripper), and exuded a definite sex appeal. In fact, I was rather turned on by her… until she opened her mouth, that is.
The interview started off with some playful banter between her and David D, who created some sexual tension by moving the lavaliere mic on Amber’s bodice from one breast to the other. Then David got into the interview and let Amber loose upon his audience, and it was not a pretty sight. Honestly, most of us didn’t think it could get much worse than Tari, but we were wrong. Dead wrong.
Amber is a woman, through and through. But she’s not a cool woman. She’s the kind who belongs on some hippy compound somewhere bathing in patchouli stink while braiding her armpit hair. A total New-Age Wu-Wu. She rambled on and on about energy and charkas and all kinds of other stuff. There were mumbles going through the audience from people saying things like “What the fuck? This is the reason I left SS,” and other rumblings.
Things just continued to degenerate when David D left the stage and Amber started taking the audience through Yoga exercises designed to make us “feel our male integrity.” She had us bend our knees, put our hands over our head, and move as if we were “pushing through honey.”
If the audience had gotten confused with Tari, it was with this speaker that the audience just got totally lost. Everything she was saying was so far out there and contradicted so heavily with David D’s teachings, that everyone was just getting frustrated and confused. She even told everyone “I don’t agree with Cocky and Funny.” She even had David D saying he regretted the philosophy of Cocky and Funny and that he’s actually trying to get away from that concept.
I don’t know if he was pandering to his guest speaker at that moment, but that’s where most of us just lost it. In our eyes, Amber had no credibility what so ever, and David D was quickly losing it as well. The worst thing about Amber was that she was coming totally from the place of a woman, and made no attempt to sympathize or even understand the male way of thinking.
However, the best part was when an audience attendee got up to ask a question and started tooling Amber with Cocky/Funny tactics which totally negated any of her views that C/F doesn’t work. He asked her a very logical question about how to deal with women on a conversational level when they ask what you do for a living. Amber asked him:
“What do you do?”
He responded:
“I work at Taco Bell.”
At this point the entire audience erupted in laughter. Finally, someone had reattached their balls and was standing up to this idiot on stage. Of course, this went right over Amber’s head.
Amber: “You work at Taco Bell?”
David D: (recognizes the joke) “Uh, I really don’t think he works there.”
Student: (acting slightly ashamed) “Yeah, you’re right. It’s only a part time job.”
More laughter.
Amber: “What is it you really do?”
Student: “I have a PhD in Sexual Therapy and Sciences.”
This is, of course, what Amber claimed to have. More laughter. It was funny that Amber decried the believability of Cocky and Funny as a tactic to get women, yet when this student pulled out the C&F, she looked like a dear in headlights. Like we always say, it’s not what women prefer, it’s what they respond to, and Amber, despite her declaration to the contrary, was responding to the Cocky and Funny.
At this point, David D could see the tide was turning against his guest speaker and shut down the questions. Amber wanted to take us all through yet another yoga exercise. Many people had had enough. This is the point where me and a group of other people decided to leave the seminar room in disgust.
The Ugly
As you can tell, there was a lot of ugly going on at this day of the seminar, mostly to do with the guest speakers. Mystery was absent this day, so I don’t know what he was up to. I was thinking he didn’t feel like showing up after the NEG David D threw his way the day before, but more likely, he had better stuff to do before his presentation the next day.
When I arrived at the seminar room that morning, I was late (again). Why these seminars start so early in the morning, I’ll never know. But when I got there, I saw Major Mark in the lobby talking on his cell. I sat down and joined him. It seems there were some problems with Steve Piccus coming up that day. Mark told me that David D had screwed him out of a hotel room and Steve was pissed about it and considering not coming up. From what I learned later, there was just a misunderstanding between a few people and it wasn’t David D’s fault at all that Piccus did not have a room. Things eventually got worked out. Mark also told me about a trip he’s planning to Bangkok for the summer, and how his wife wants him to go with some of his buddy’s and have some fun. We talked a bit about how nice it must be to have a wife who wants you to fuck other women.
The bulk of the Ugly came from Amber’s stint on stage. Many people were extremely disgusted with what she was sharing with the guys at the seminar. One of the marketing guys I talked to told me he couldn’t understand what the fuck David was thinking by putting her and Tari up on stage, because he completely lost his audience with them.
A few people even dubbed the seminar “Double Your Menstruating” after seeing the crap Amber was pitching at everyone. It might have been a different story if David D had set the stage for her talk a bit more with some new concepts, but he didn’t, rather, he just put her up there to wreak havoc on the masses.
Some of us had a theory that there were some “sexual favors” at work when trying to figure out why David D would put her on stage. Some people thought that Amber had seduced David D in order to get on one of his products so she could start building her own client base for her relationship consulting business. Another theory was that David D was supplicating to her and got her up on stage in an effort to get her to sleep with him. Many people did seem to think that Daivd D was much too “wussy” around her. I don’t really believe either theory, though they are interesting to entertain.
Most likely (and this is my personal theory on this situation), this was just a further attempt by David D to undercut what MINE’99 is doing with SS and the direction that is going. I think there is a small subsection of people who buy into Yoga and all that New Age crap as a method of Seduction, and by including Amber, David D was hoping to take that market away from MINE’99 by including it in his “Double Your Dating” Philosophy. However, seeing that the Yoga and New Ag Wu-Wu junk just keeps alienating people from SS, I can’t see why David D would want to incorporate anything like this into his method.
A friend of mine also overheard David D talk about how he’s probably going to have to edit the guest speakers from Day 2 completely out of his final product. I wouldn’t be surprised if all of Tari’s stuff hit the cutting room floor, but a lot of Amber may be kept in, since he talked about her and continued to reference her stuff through days 3 and 4. My recommendation to all of you is that you skip that part of the series and move on to Day 3 stuff once the product hits the streets.
My Experience
Overall, I had a great experience on Day 2 at the seminar. My chat with Major Mark was a nice one, and I find the guy very engaging to talk to. I also went out to lunch that day with a marketing guy I met at diner the night before and he gave me a lot of great advice for my ebook.
It wasn’t until the guest speakers came up that I started hating life. Tari was bearable, but the Amber speech destroyed any interest I had in the seminar. I know that after that day, if I had paid to be there, I’d have demanded my money back.
After the seminar, some friends and I all went out for diner and discussed how we couldn’t believe how bad the speakers were. We often discussed what David D must have been thinking getting them up on stage.
Afterwards, we all went down to Venice Beach and hit up a club down there, where we had a number of drinks and a few good sets. One interesting thing about these seminars is that your game, for the short term, actually suffers. It’s like information overload and you’re just sick of doing this stuff.
We ended the night around two o’clock, and I went home to go to sleep, hoping, praying that Day 3 of the seminar would be better. Hoping that things couldn’t get any worse than the Friday seminar.
Luckily, my prayers were answered. In fact, they were far, far surpassed, as I felt day 3 of the seminar was the best one there was!

DYD Mastery Recap, Day 1

Okay, it’s Monday, it’s another week, and I’m back from last week’s Double Your Dating Mastery Seminar. And boy, do I have a LOT to report on!
In fact, there’s so much to report on, that I’m just going to take the whole week and blog on this sucker. I’m not going to go into any specifics on the material David D. came up with, because I signed a release form before going into the seminar, but I will touch on the generalities of it.
Most of these reports are going to focus on the Guest Speakers and their material, some insights into the audience and how they responded to the material, what happened after the seminar, my own personal experiences at the seminar, and some of the drama that went on behind the scenes.
There’s a ton of great material to get into. Today, I’m going to go into some detail about day 1. The real “meat” of the seminar was on days 3 & 4, and there was definitely a lot of great stuff to talk about.
So anyway, onto the seminar…
DAY 1
The Good
The seminar took place at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel out near LAX. This is a really nice hotel on the inside, though from the outside it leaves a little to be desired. The seminar started off on a Thursday, and was going to go for a marathon 4 days! It was a bright and sunny morning on April the 29th, 2004, so things were off to a good start.
On day one, David DeAngelo made it clear that this was going to be a different type of seminar than what we are all used to. The material he covered on this day dealt a great deal with that sticky wicket that every aspiring “Ladies Man” has to deal with – namely, inner game.
But this wasn’t just inner game in relation to women and sex and whatnot. This was inner game relating to ALL areas of life. Almost all of his new material had to do with success in life in general, and not just with women. Most of this was directly applicable to business in particular, as some of the psychology behind it is applied to all types of endeavors.
One of the bolder things David talked about was the “Dark Side” of human behavior/consciousness/psychology/biology. “Dark” in the sense of how we as humans move through the world and let it affect us. One of his primary concepts in this part of the seminar was that of “Projection IS Perception.” Meaning that what we project onto the world is how we perceive it, not the other way around.
He also laid out a great method of success in any endeavor, that being:
This means that you plan out your course of action, you execute the plan, you study the results of your actions and make the corrections necessary, and finally you act on those corrections. This is a cyclical plan, so after Acting, you revert back to Planning and do the whole thing over again.
In dealing with the Dark Side, David D. also got into the Psychology of the “Wussy,” a mainstream term he’s coined to replace the more common acronym of “AFC” (Average Frustrated Chump). “Wussy” is defined as a cross between a “wimp” and a “pussy.” This was an extremely interesting section because David broke down pretty much every behavior and all the psychology that goes into being a lame-ass in all areas of life.
David then went on to talk about “weapons of influence,” and various concepts that people can use to influence others. But the best part of Day 1, in my opinion, was David’s talk about how to have long term success with women, and long term success in life. Namely, this came down to having a “Life Purpose,” or “Life Path.” Most men do not have a life path. They don’t know where they’re going, and because of this, their life is out of control, without focus. He made it clear that in order to have a life path, you must never let anything become more important than that path or purpose, especially women.
He also went into a great many marketing concepts, and shared his own personal philosophy about how to be successful, that being that success is the idea that you’re helping other people become more successful. This is evident in how he structures his seminars with guest speakers, most of which have their own philosophy and products to sell on the subject of dating and seduction. He’s basically being extremely generous by sharing his large client base with other businessmen in exchange for content. This is important, because it makes a clear distinction between DYD and other Seduction and Dating systems, that distinction being that DYD is NOT a complete system of Seduction, Dating, or Pick-Up, rather, it is an all-encompassing philosophy behind male/female interaction and self-improvement in life. This is one of the reasons Double Your Dating is so interesting in terms of seduction study, because it presents you with EVERY type of information that’s out there, and allows you to choose what you want to learn.
This can be a good and a bad thing. David D’s own system doesn’t extend much past the “cocky/funny” philosophy of interacting with women. But at the same time, it’s that philosophy that is the foundation for a great many other methods that are out there. The good part is that by David DeAngelo incorporating other people with different methods and philosophy into his seminar, he helps make up for the shortcomings in his method. However, because he does that, DYD has no “concrete” structure per say, and some of the guest speaker’s own philosophies and tactics can contradict what David teaches.
The first guest speaker of the seminar was the elusive David X, the Canadian Pick-Up Superstar associated with Cliff of “Cliff’s List” and the “Be Relentless” philosophy.
When I first met David X, I was quite surprised by the man I saw. He is not what you would expect of a typical “Dating Guru.” He’s short, he’s fat, he’s got beady eyes, a large gap in his teeth, and he smells a bit like sour cigars. In fact, due to his appearance, your first reaction to him might be “There is no way in hell this guy can be a pick-up artist!”
But then you talk to the guy, and you start to get a sense of what he’s about. David X is a guy who is not held back by the concept of “social niceties.” In fact, he’s quite brutally honest and in your face with things. He has the belief that he’s an awesome guy, that all women love him, love sex, and by default, love sex with him (lol). In fact, his whole method can be summed up in two words:
Be Fearless.
David X says that the one common denominator amongst men who aren’t getting laid is a fear of women. This is a fear instilled by society, by family, by women, and by other men. It’s an irrational fear that does not exist. Part of this fear comes from the fact that most men don’t know what they want – in women and in life!
One of David X’s biggest insights was the concept that “If you can’t think for yourself, you think for someone else.” This was a very profound thing to say, in my opinion, because it deals with David DeAngelo’s concept of projection. Basically, this means that whenever you allow fear to control your thoughts (and buy into the values and ideas that society forces upon you of the way men have to treat and interact with women), you project those fear-controlled thoughts onto other people, even though that may not be what those people are thinking.
For instance, say you see a woman with lovely, large, beautiful breasts. You want to comment on them, but you don’t because it’s considered “rude.” However, what if the woman spent a lot of money on getting those big fake breasts, and she’s proud of them and insecure about her looks? What if a compliment on her boobs is just the thing she wants to have, and will fall all over the first man who will give it to her? See the distinction? By being honest with your thoughts and feelings, you could very well get what you want instead of deciding for yourself what the woman is going to respond to. One thing he liked to point out was: If you can’t understand women, why are you trying to think for them?
David X spoke about how men get self-conscious about looking at women. They think looking at a woman makes her feel uncomfortable and that they shouldn’t appraise them noticeably. However, David X was sure to point out that women want to look good for men, which is why they spend so much time in the bathroom getting ready. Therefore, you should rejoice and celebrate a woman’s beauty, and not be ashamed of enjoying it.
He went on to say that being a real man is knowing what you want and going after what you want. He pointed out that men are naturally emotionally weaker than women, and that we shouldn’t accept that and go along with it. He said that the weaker you are emotionally, the more the manipulators grab you. He likes to say that “You can teach a stupid guy, but you can never train an evil woman.” Therefore, don’t be manipulated. If the woman doesn’t enjoy sex, leave them. Don’t believe what women (the stronger sex, emotionally) say. Set your focus, your goal, build YOUR fantasy, and then GO AFTER WHAT YOU WANT!
David X suggested starting low in terms of women in the “looks” department, go for girls you can get at your current skill level, then work your way up.
David X’s belief is that you have to act like a man in order to get a woman. Part of being a man is knowing what you want out of life and knowing where you’re going. There are 3 basic things you need to embody in order to do that:
1. Honesty
2. Trust
3. Respect
The biggest part of David X’s method is “Be Honest With Women.” He points out that lots of guys approach women without representing the truth. He encourages guys to think out loud and tell women the truth. His basic defense of this theory is “What do you have to hide for?” Telling the truth demonstrates having strength. Women want to feel your strength and want a guy who knows where he’s going. This equates to them feeling taken care of.
David X talked about having a sense of humor, and about how in order to have a sense of humor, you have to be yourself. But by “being yourself,” this means the “yourself” that isn’t inhibited by your fears. The notion of “Fear” is not a part of who you are, rather, your raw thoughts and feelings are what make you up.
David X ended his interview by talking about how a man’s biggest problem is his biggest fear, and the only way to overcome that fear is deciding what you want, and not feel bad about wanting it.

The Bad
As with everything in life, there is a dark side, and not all was peaches and cream at the DYD seminar. One of the things that was very noticeable right up front was the tension among David D’s staff. It was obvious to a great many people the staff seemed to be walking on eggshells around David, who routinely snapped at them over tiny details (in front of his audience, no less).
The audience was also put off by David DeAngelo asking the everyone hold their questions and ask them later on. Many people felt this stifled any dialogue or free exchange between teacher and student, and made it seem like David cared more about staying on schedule than making sure his audience was learning. However, I can say after hearing a few questions this audience asked, it’s probably a good thing he minimized his interaction with them while on stage.
David D. also seemed quite irritable with his audience, snapping at people who would come in late from the break or what have you. Obviously, people are going to need to go to the bathroom and get out of their seats for various reasons. But then again, this was a product he was making, so I can understand why David wanted as little outside interference as possible during the production. However, that didn’t make it seem any less rude. Most of the people at the seminar were paying to be there, and I personally thought this was in bad taste to yell or snap at them. I am happy to say this behavior subsided as the seminar went on.
Probably the biggest “Bad” to speak of was David D’s delivery of his material. His voice is very bass-heavy and monotone. Most of his presentation is the projection of powerpoint slides and him reading from said slides in a very business-like manner. This can get exhausting to listen to (and for those of you who have listened to his advanced series, you may know what I’m talking about). This was never more apparent than when he had a guest speaker up, most of which were more animated and interesting to listen to.
Another big bad was the lunch available at the hotel. The hotel offered Box Lunches going for upwards of $20 a pop. From what I heard, the food wasn’t all that great. David allotted an hour for lunch. It would have been nice to have a bit more time so some of us who wanted to go get food elsewhere could do so without being rushed. This wasn’t a big deal, but after being cooped up in a seminar room for a couple hours, we needed some sunshine and fresh air.
The Ugly
The first day had a good many “Pick-Up” dudes in attendance. Offhand, I recall seeing the Real Social Dynamics boys, namely Tyler Durden, Papa, and Twentysix. Swinggcat and Merovingian were also in attendance, along with Little Big Dick, Craig (who’s archive is on mASF), and the one and only Mystery.
The presence of Mystery was an interesting one, because there was definitely some tension associated with his presence. Mystery is known to have an ego not only about his status, but his method as well, so the fact that he was basically in the same seat as one of David D’s students probably caused a little insecurity. This wasn’t more apparent than when Mystery disagreed with one of the things that David D was teaching and spoke up about it. David D quickly NEGed Mystery on his views, and then ignored him. It was hard for Mystery to retort to someone social proofed on stage with a microphone without coming off as Beta, and indeed, Mystery looked like he’d just been scolded by the teacher during class. Afterwards, it was apparent Mystery had lost most of his interest in the seminar and spent his time working quietly on his own theories and ideas at his seat. Most likely this instance will be edited out of the finished product, but it is something that was interesting to watch.
The biggest “Ugly” of the seminar came when David X took the stage. There was obviously no rapport between David X and David DeAngelo as the two struggled to find their stride through a rather awkward interview. David X started off the interview joking about how the microphone he had reminded him of a dildo. David D. tried to play it off, but the dildo jokes continued until DeAngelo decided to nip it in the bud and have a lavaliere mic placed on everyone’s lovable foul-mouthed pick-up artist.
David X looked quite uncomfortable on stage. He was wearing dark sunglasses and fit awkwardly into the narrow chair David D had for him. In a way, with his rotund belly and open shirt, he looked a bit like you’d imagine the Comic Book Guy from the Simpson’s if he owned a Porno Store. David X’s humor was rather blue, (blue enough to make Andrew Dice Clay blush, if that’s any indication). Most of his jokes were peppered with references to women’s boobies and ass fucking. The audience was laughing, but it was more laughing at David X than with him, which is a shame because he had good things to say. Plus, as the interview went on and the jokes got more and more raunchy, David D became visibly uncomfortable as he was probably thinking how the hell he was going to edit this rather poor interview. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole interview was cut out of the final product, but I doubt it, since there was good material to share and it wasn’t all bad.
But the David X drama didn’t end there. Many of the better known Pick-Up Artists in attendance were shaking their heads in disbelief for the most part when it came to David X and his methods. Many of them had a hard time believing he gets laid. Others believe he gets laid, but mostly by women who open beer bottles with their peg legs and spend their time counting what’s left of their teeth, if you get my drift. That, and the fact that David X is married cast a real shadow on how field experienced his is.
David X also didn’t do himself any favors by joking about how he didn’t know why guys had to study this dating and seduction stuff. He said that, to him, it was mind boggling that there were guys who actually existed that NEEDED to study this type of thing. This was bad for two reasons. The first was that he alienated his audience who are obviously a group of guys who WANT or NEED to study this stuff. Strike two was that this comment was a bit incongruent with the fact that he’s being presented as a dating guru who teaches guys how to get laid through personal coaching. He often bragged about how his students used to never get pussy, and after he graduated them, they went on to have more sex than they could ever imagine. Yet the very statement that he was above the guys who needed to learn this stuff undermines his pride in his students.
Another problem with David X was that after the first day, he wasn’t seen again until after the seminar ended on the last day. His absence may have been because he was visiting friends in LA, but the other guest speakers managed to hang out with the audience and offer advice and counseling for free. His absence conveyed to many that he was either afraid to be around guys who were interested in testing his abilities, or he simply didn’t like hanging out with guys interested in learning how to pick up women because he thought they were a group of losers. Either way, his absence didn’t go over well in my opinion (hell, even Rick H, one of the flakiest guys out there, showed up for 2 days).
Major Mark was also in attendance the first day of the seminar, sitting by Cliff of Cliff’s List fame in the back of the room. Major Mark was sporting a new look that included a pony tail and goatee with thick eyeglasses. It was a more hippy looking than the image we see of him in all the SS products, and it took me a second to recognize him. I got to talk to him briefly at the breaks, and he was a very engaging guy who had a lot of great things to say.
But no where was the intricate social drama more apparent than during the VIP dinner David DeAngelo treated his invited seminar guests to that night. When I picked up my VIP badge at the beginning of the morning, it was accompanied by a rather nice gold invitation to join him for supper. This meal took place in the hotel restaurant at the biggest table available. David D sat at its head, and Mystery sat at the opposite head. Tyler Durden, Merovingian, and a few others gravitated to David D’s sphere, while other invited guests (who were of the non-PUA persuasion) were at the other end of the table enraptured by Mystery and his talk of Dating and Seduction. I was at the middle of the table with Major Mark, David X, and Swinggcat, along with a few internet marketing gurus who were at the seminar as guests of David D’s.
The most noticeable thing was the way David X and Major Mark regarded people like Mystery and Tyler Durden. They looked at them with a slight air of snobbery, like these young punks were fakers that didn’t deserve to be at the table. Major Mark often referred to Mystery by his SS-inspired nick-name “Misery.” The good Major also went on to talk about his prowess with women, and he and David X expressed how lame they thought it was to hang out with men all day long instead of being with women. At this, Tyler Durden spoke up, playing a subtle mind game with the two by disagreeing with them and making the two men qualify to him in their arguments. This, of course, was only picked up by Swinggcat and I, who were in the vicinity of the conversation and knew the tactic Tyler was using.
Major Mark also tried to distinguish himself by saying he’s the only hypnotist at the seminar, which Tyler slyly undermined by pointing out that Swinggcat was a skilled hypnotist as well. Swinggcat and Major Mark then got into a conversation about how Mark used to flame Swinggcat when they were both on the SS List. The two had never met before, and seemed to enjoy sharing their experiences in the “Rapid Romance” camp like two old veterans exchanging war stories. Major Mark then went on to tell us all a good deal about his experiences with MINE’99, which he asked me not to repeat on the blog. I’ll leave it to your imagination what he had to share with us. =)
The dinner went on, and Tyler informed me that David D has regular dinners like this during the seminar that get more and more exclusive as they go along. Obviously a subtle way for Tyler to let me know where I was on the totem pole, but I didn’t care. I was just happy to be there in the first place.
The dinner ended with David D paying the check and rushing out of there like a thief in the night. He said he had a girl waiting for him. Some of us had a theory that he was rushing to the “real” VIP dinner, but most likely he was rushing to relax after being surrounded by PUAs and “Dating Talk” all day.
After that, I got to chat with Craig briefly who was going out with the RSD guys who were taking students out for workshop that night. Merovingian, Swinggcat, and I ended up staying at the hotel for a bit longer and shooting the shit until we decided to call it a night and go home.
My Experience
Overall, the first day was a great experience. I showed up a bit late, due to the fact that my alarm didn’t go off. But during that time I got to meet David X, who also showed up late, and I chatted with him for a bit out in the lobby until David D took his first break. I thought the information David D shared that day was excellent stuff, and was surprised at how different it was from other stuff I’d heard. It was much broader in scope than other Dating products, and really dealt more with over-all life strategy and inner game understandings than anything else. There was also a lot of great business advice that was shared during the seminar. I just barely scratched the surface of what was covered in this recap here. There is TONS more info that I can’t and aren’t even able to talk about.
On a personal note, I quite enjoyed meeting David X. I found him to be a really funny an engaging guy when I was talking to him one-on-one. He’s a great storyteller and had a lot of good things to say. He’s quite the natural who is only marginally aware of what he does, but he seems to be able to train guys to emulate him. I can see that he’s successful with women, because he seems like a fun guy to be around. He’s also married, and he told me his wife is a great woman who gives him blowjobs whenever he wants, so he doesn’t feel the need to go out hunting for pussy all the time. One thing I really liked about his system is that it has a “graduation” method where he actually tells guys that they’ve gotten to a point where they no longer need his help. He claims that everyone he’s graduated has gone on to have amazing success with women. I want to believe him, because I like the guy. I’d be interested in taking some coaching sessions with him and see it for myself. Hopefully, I’ll be able to interview him before he leaves LA.
I also noticed that the production of the seminar was grade-A first class stuff. David D had stages set up, a large projection screen, professional audio technicians, and a professional video crew there taping the whole seminar. He was well prepared and his presentation was quite professional, even if it was littered with little bugs and technical difficulties. I had heard that David D was actually LOSING money putting this seminar on, because it was such a production, but the money he’s gonna make off this thing will more than make up for it, I’m sure.
One complaint I had was that he handed out legal pads instead of notebooks with copies of the powerpoint slides in them like he had in Chicago. But he made up for this later by offering the slides on CD for free. It didn’t help the writer’s cramp I got while jotting down notes, however.
I found the hotel to be pretty nice. The seminar room wasn’t too big, but it certainly wasn’t small. I actually expected a bigger audience to be at the seminar, but having a smaller group there was probably better for logistic purposes.
I also had a good time catching up with all my friends who were attending the seminar. After the first day, there was a buzz of excitement that this was going to be something vastly different from what we originally expected it to be. And overall, it was a fun time. I looked forward to Day 2 with a great deal of excitement and anticipation, expecting it to get even better than it already was…
But alas, when it came to Day 2, that was NOT the case.

DYD Masters Seminar Preview

I’m not a big fan of the DYD Advanced series. I found it rather dry at parts, and mostly skipped to the guest speakers to hear what they had to say (my favorites on the DYD Advanced series were Rick H. and Dave Riker, btw). It was an extension of the concepts David D. laid out in his ebook, but most of it was more conceptual stuff that had more of an armchair flair to it than concrete tips and tricks on dating and picking up women.
However, that said, I’m convinced that the DYD Masters series is going to change the way we look at Dating and Seduction forever.

So Thursday, April 29 marked the first time I met Major Mark Cunningham, and I gotta say, this dude is one cool customer. Very nice guy with a good sense of humor, and extremely smart. He’s not a total hypno zombie, which is nice, because talking about PUA and Hypnosis can get boring fast. It’s nice to see his interests are vast and varied.
Major Mark is also sporting a new look that’s quite different than the one you may see in a few of the products he’s in out there. He seems to have dropped some weight, and is going for the “hippy teacher” look, sporting a long pony tail, thick eyeglasses, and signature bushy mustache. It seems much more congruent than how he used to look.
Also, some big news for you Major Mark fans out there. I talked to Mark over dinner last night, and he informed me that after the DYD seminar on Saturday, he’s gotten permission from David DeAngelo to do an impromptu 4 hour seminar along with Steve Piccus, the famous hypnotherapist! What the two will be talking about, I don’t know for sure, though Mark mentioned something about showing guys how to change their belief systems to help make them more successful with women. I’m gonna see if I’ll be able to record some audio of it and post it to the Lair for you guys to check out. I can’t guarantee I’ll get permission, but I’ll sure try. =)
