More On A Possible Sargathon Scam?

I hate to post this on the off chance that I am preventing a cause to raise money for a cancer patient, but I have been getting a ton of email regarding the recent sargathon event up in Canada, and none of it is good. Here’s the most recent one:

"sargeathon" being dodgy. I don’t claim to know for sure if it is, but
I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Snow, and I really suspect he’s
ripping off Sean Messenger and the other guys who are volunteering their
time.Anyway, I have some very solid proof that Miso was working with
Dimitri The Lover, the famously creepy pickup guru in Toronto. It shows the
kinds of shady characters that this Miso guy associates with.Also, I’m not totally certain that Snow’s mother *isn’t* dying of
cancer. All I know is that if SOMEONE were to lie about this, it would
be snow.And even if she did have cancer, healthcare is free
in Canada! You can still get screwed because you can’t work, and drugs
can be expensive, but she’s not likely to DIE from a lack of money.
Now, the reason I’m posting this email is because I consider the guy who sent it to me a very reliable guy. I have gotten NUMEROUS emails, all bashing this guy SNOW from various lair leaders and lair members up in Canada.
And the funny thing is each and every one of them seems SCARED this Snow guy would physically harm them in some way! Like he’d punch them out of attack them if they said anything bad about the guy.
Fact is, I don’t know what to think about this situation. If the guy’s mom really has cancer, I want to help out. But I don’t know who to believe at this point.

Выбрав что-то из одежды, он подошёл именно к той самой примерочной, куда некоторое время назад зашла моя мама. На вид парень был, чуть старше меня и испуганно взирая по сторонам, открыв штору кабинки, прошёл не задерживаясь во внутрь.
Я глазам своим не мог поверить, что это происходит. Разные мысли в голове, стали меня посещать и в основном они были интимного характера. Неужели моя мама, встречается с этим юнцом и в тайне от отца, изменяет ему, таким способом в примерочной кабинке ТК.
Да, да. У мамы был муж, который приходился мне отцом. Но у меня и в мыслях не было, что мама может так незатейливо, наставлять ему рога, посреди бела дня, да ещё при скоплении множества народа.
Мне стало любопытно, что же они там делают, и я подошёл к кабинке поближе. Стоя у шторы и прислушиваясь, я ничего не мог расслышать. Вокруг голдели люди и звуки сливались, теряясь в пространстве. Смирившись с этим, я отошёл в сторону якобы высматривая, что купить, но неизменно поглядывая в сторону примерочных. Тут неожиданно я увидел ещё пару человек, с которыми мама разговаривала. Они тоже ходили по магазинчику и что-то выбирали, косясь на кабинки с соответствующим номером. Вскоре со временем у примерочной скопилось более пяти человек. И они тупо озираясь друг на друга, не понимали, что вообще происходит. Некоторые примерочные были пусты, но никто в них не заходил из парней, ждавшие не понятно чего, как мне казалось.
И вот, этот парень, что был первый, быстро вылетев из кабинки, как ошпаренный, тут же помчался прочь, поправляя на ходу свои штаны. Я не понимал, что твориться здесь, смотря ему в след, как он удаляется. И пока у меня в голове это переваривалось, в кабинку прошмыгнул следующий из очереди, что стихийно образовалась у заманчивой для них примерочной.

In addition to their role in labs, axolotls have become popular in the exotic pet trade (though they are illegal to own in California, Maine, New Jersey and Washington, DC). However, the axolotls you might find at a pet shop are different from their wild relatives in Lake Xochimilco. Most wild axolotls are a dark grayish brown. The famous pink axolotls, as well as other color variants such as white, blue, yellow and black, are genetic anomalies that are rare in the wild but selectively bred for in the pet trade.
What’s more, “most of the animals in the pet trade have a very small genetic variance,” Zambrano said. Pet axolotls tend to be inbred and lack the wide flow of different genes that makes up a healthy population in the wild. That means that the axolotl extinction crisis can’t simply be solved by dumping pet axolotls into Lake Xochimilco. (Plus, the pet axolotls likely wouldn’t fare well with the poor habitat conditions in the lake.)
Fame and misfortune
The difficulties that axolotls face in the wild are almost diametrically opposed to the fame they’ve found in recent years. Axolotls have captured the human imagination for centuries, as evidenced by their roles in Aztec religion and stories, but the early 21st century seems to be a high point for them. An axolotl graces the 50 peso bill. There are axolotl-inspired Pokemon, and Reddit commenters have noted that the character Toothless from the “How to Train Your Dragon” movie series is distinctly axolotl-like.
The introduction of axolotls to Minecraft in 2021 neatly mapped onto an uptick in Google searches for the animals, and social media makes it easy for people to gain access to photos and videos of the salamanders, particularly the photogenic pink ones often kept as pets.
The axolotl pet trade probably doesn’t directly harm the wild populations since wild salamanders aren’t being poached or taken from Lake Xochimilco. However, Zambrano said, axolotls’ ubiquity in pop culture and pet stores might make people assume that because axolotls “live in all the tanks around the world, they are not in danger.”

“As a result, trade flows in both directions will tumble, and irregular trade will proliferate, including smuggling, transshipment and systemic under-reporting of trade value during customs clearance,” Xu said in a note.

Axolotl is a word from Nahuatl, the Indigenous Mexican language spoken by the Aztecs and an estimated 1.5 million people today. The animals are named for the Aztec god Xolotl, who was said to transform into a salamander. The original Nahuatl pronunciation is “AH-show-LOAT”; in English, “ACK-suh-LAHT-uhl” is commonly used.
Axolotls are members of a class of animals called amphibians, which also includes frogs. Amphibians lay their jelly-like eggs in water, and the eggs hatch into water-dwelling larval states. (In frogs, these larvae are called tadpoles.)
