Well, it looks like sales for The Game is still going strong.  I’m happy to say that in the first week of release, it got as high as #9 on the amazon.com top 100 list, which is pretty amazing.  In fact, it even reached #1 on the UK version of amazon!

I spoke with Neil Strauss over the weekend, and he was immensely pleased with the outpouring of support the community has shown both him and his book.  He knew there would be a couple people who attacked him for what he wrote, but he never thought the response would be so overwhelmingly positive.  He asked me to thank you all for helping to make the book a success.

Neil will be travelling around doing book signings and other publicity for a while, so be sure to help him out by recommending the book to others.  Not only is it a great read, but it can also be a way to get friends of yours into the community.

If you’re in San Francisco, you can meet Neil Strauss tomorrow, September 14th, live and in person at one of his book signings.  Here’s the info:

Book Review: The Game, by Neil Strauss

Stylebook_1Okay, by now I’m sure you’re all curious about the book THE GAME, written by Neil Strauss (aka Style, the most powerful of the Jedi).

I received my advanced copy of the book over Labor Day weekend (since I’m in the book briefly, I was sent one early).  The first thing you notice about the book is that it’s not your typical hardback book as you’d expect.  The cover is actually thin, flexible, and black, the pages are all edged in gold, and there’s even a thin red cloth bookmark located in the spine.  In short, the book looks like the typical Gideon Bible you’d find in a hotel room.

And I must say, it’s quite appropriate.

Move over Lay Guide, so long eBooks, THE GAME is the new bible of the seduction community!

A few chapters into this book, I realized that this wasn’t going to be the “tell-all expose” we all were anticipating.  This is a book written by arguably one of the best seducers to ever come out of the community, and in it, he shares everything.

I mean EVERYTHING.

All his teachings, all his tactics, all his theories, all his strategies are all laid bare.

Through the course of the book, we start off by seeing Style go from your Average Frustrated Chump to a full blown Ladies Man, and as he documents his progress, it’s as if you’re right there learning along with him.  Because of this, I would go so far as to say that is book is a MUST OWN for anyone out there looking to improve with women.

This isn’t just a story.  This is a “how-to guide.”  A manual on how to pick up women from the best of the best.  Forget Cassanova, forget Don Juan, this is stuff that works now, in this day and age, and is applicable to modern women.  Not only that, but it’s all based on the tried and tested techniques of the seduction community.

Style pretty much lays out every form and method of teaching there is.  He gives you the full Mystery Method, he shows you Speed Seduction, he explains the Juggler Method, Double Your Dating, and David X style.  Pretty much every major school of thought is laid bare in here, which makes it a great all-encompassing reference manual for guys who want to know what teachings are available out there.

In the book, Style also shares posts from the private Mystery’s Lounge message board where some of the greats post their best stuff.  This is a good way for the average guy who isn’t privileged enough to be part of this private message board to see some of the advanced teachings and spastic ramblings that are shared there.

Then, Style shows you how he incorporates the best teachings from all his sources and created a system of pick-up that works for him.

This is, bar-none, one of the most complete guides on the subject of seduction I have ever seen.  In fact, I’d rate it up there along side Robert Greene’s classic “The Art Of Seduction.”

But the real treat of THE GAME isn’t just it’s wealth of pick-up knowledge.  No sir.  It’s the inside look you get at the personalities behind these teachings.

Casanova Movie On The Way

September 7, 2005 by

I just found this interesting tid-bit about a new movie regarding the world famous seducer Casanova…

BEIJING, Sept. 5 — He was a libertine and intellectual, a seducer,
spy and seminarian, an adventurer and fugitive from justice. Now
Giacomo Casanova is also funny, self-sacrificing, writhing in the
throes of love and — because this is history Hollywood-style — a
character with a happy ending.

The Australian actor Heath Ledger plays the insatiable
lover in big trouble in Lasse Hallstrom’s “Casanova,” a clever, often
madcap comedy that happily doesn’t let the real life facts of the 18th
century Venetian get in the way of a very funny story line.

Ledger has been all over the screens at the Venice Film
Festival. Last Thursday, his performance as a homosexual cowboy
wrestling with his desires in Ang Lee’s “Brokeback Mountain” wowed
audiences.

“The real Casanova was a man who had a true understanding
of women and had an uncanny ability to get into the minds of women,”
Hallstrom said at a news conference ahead of Saturday night’s premiere.
“And that’s what I wanted to keep about Casanova in this film.”

Ledger said he did research his character — to a point.

“I flipped through his journals and then it was (history)
out the window,” Ledger said. “We were making it into a romp. We wanted
to have a clean slate and just have fun.”

For Hallstrom, whose credits include “Cider House Rules”
and “Chocolat,” making “Casanova” was a welcome chance to return to his
roots in TV comedy in Sweden.

“The real Casanova is a wonderful idea for another movie,”
the director said. “He was such a multi-talented man — writer,
musician, priest, philosopher, scientist.”

The actors’ accents range from proper English to something
close to thick New Yorker, but the illogic just blends into all the
snappy-paced, steady fun.

What Hallstrom was intent on making authentic was Venice’s opulent yet earthy 18th century atmosphere.

He succeeded, thanks in large measure to Venice, which
allowed the cast and crew access to just about everywhere they wanted,
from St. Mark’s Square to palaces never before opened for filming.

Notice that Casanova wasn’t JUST a seducer?  He had many interests and lived a full and exciting life.  Remember that going out to pick-up women is okay to a certain extent, but never let it defite who you are.

Lessons From The 40 Year Old Virgin

Recently I went to go see the movie "The 40 Year Old Virgin," and it is without a doubt one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen.  The film focuses on a lovable guy who has pretty much given up on women, choosing to play with his toys and video games instead.  When his friends find out that he’s still a virgin at the age of 40, they start giving him advice on how to get a woman.

Even though the movie is a comedy, and some of the characters and situations are rather outlandish, there’s still some great messages at the heart of the movie.

The first of which is — IT’S NEVER TOO LATE.

No matter what has happened to you in the past, or what is going on in your life currently, it’s not too late for you to start meeting and dating women.

Seriously, some guys take themselves out of the game, or just simply give up when the going gets a bit tough.  Either because of the pain of rejection or fear of women, they choose to take the less painful road and keep to themselves, letting one opportunity after another with women pass them by.

But living a life devoid of love or intimacy is NOT a good thing!  People aren’t meant to be hermits, we’re social creatures and we have to interact with others.  Unless you’re a monk devoted to a life of celibacy, you’re going to want to have a good woman in your life.

That brings us to our second lesson — LEAVE YOUR COMFORT ZONE!

In "The 40 Year Old Virgin," opportunities with women did not start happening with the main character until he stopped doing what was comfortable for him and left his "comfort zone."

Usually, he’d spend his nights watching TV, either alone or with his elderly neighbors.  But when he started going out to places like bars, speed dating events, bookstores, and other places he didn’t normally go to, he began to learn some things about women.

The whole idea of moving out of your comfort zone isn’t to make you feel UNCOMFORTABLE, it’s about helping you to LEARN.  And it’s because you’re learning that you feel uncomfortable, due to the fact that you’re starting to do something new that’s never been part of your reality before.

Too often, we get used to doing certain things, living a certain way, and acting a certain way.

It becomes routine.

We become used to it, even if it’s not healthy!  And when we try to venture outside of it, we scurry back to our comfort zone because we don’t like doing things that are new and scary!

But how else are you going to learn what works for you if you don’t venture into the unknown?  How else are you going to learn about women if you don’t make the effort to interact with them?

You must be willing to stop doing what’s comfortable and take some risk.  You may fail a few times, but when you do succeed, it’ll be that much more satisfying.  And before you know it, what used to be scary and uncomfortable is now easy!

The third lesson from "The 40 Year Old Virgin" is — MEET WOMEN.

Some of the funniest scenes in this new movie is when the main character goes out with his friends to actually meet women.  But the message here is something I’ve been preaching on my website and in my newsletter for YEARS.

**If you don’t know how to meet women, you’ll never get one of them!**

Too often, guys will let one opportunity with women after another pass them by because they don’t know what to say or do to meet them.

Understand that women are THERE for you to meet!  They WANT you to meet them — in fact, they EXPECT you to meet them!  And if you don’t, then they think you’re just not interested in them.

Seriously, all the guys out there who know how to get lots of dates are the guys who walk up to women and start talking to them, display their personality and confidence, and then get the date.

If you don’t act like one of those guys, if you don’t approach women, then it’s the woman’s belief that you just aren’t that into them.

It can be a hard thing meeting women, and it can lead to embarrassing moments (as you’ll see in "The 40 Year Old Virgin" movie), but ultimately THIS is what will get you success!

But you can minimize the fear, embarrassment, and rejection you suffer if you know what to do and prepare yourself BEFORE you go out to meet tons of women.

In my book The Art Of Approaching Women, I lay it all out for you in clear, easy-to-understand language that will be your own personal guidebook in how to do everything you need to to find a great woman you can have wonderful experiences with.

I can teach you how to read a woman’s body language to see if she she’s interested in you.

I can teach you how to flirt with a woman to get her interested in you.

I can also teach you how to train yourself to meet any woman you want.

It’s all possible.  If you were to download my ebook and start reading it right now, by the time the weekend rolls around you’d be ready to go out and have some fun with lots of different girls.

You can get your copy of The Art Of Approaching Women now by clicking below:

Before you know it, you’ll be one of the guys giving advice on how to meet women!

Wishing you success,

Looks like the Primetime Live special and Neil Strauss’s appearance on the View were both pre-empted for coverage of the crisis going on in Louisiana right now.  Hopefully they’ll air later on when things get better.
