At the first day of the DYD Masters seminar, I finally got to meet the elusive David X. For those of you who don’t know of him, David X is the hero of Cliff’s List, with Cliff being his business partner, we’ve heard of this legendary pick-up artist and his bold style of seduction for years on that lovable Canuk’s newsletter.
I must say, when I first met David, I was surprised, because he was NOTHING like what I expected him to be. Normally, when you think of “Gurus,” especially naturals who are extremely good with women, you think of tall, dark, hansom guys who look like movies stars. You know, someone girls could really fall for without much effort.
Well, this is not David X.
David X is an old, short, portly man with a receding hairline, glasses, and a huge gap in his front teeth. But what he lacks in looks, David more than makes up with in attitude! This guy really has some brass balls on him. His style of pick-up and the philosophy behind it reminds me of a mix between Gunwitch Method and BadBoy style. Lots of inner game belief structures and unrelenting truthfulness about how he feels pretty much sums up his style in a nutshell.
In short, I can TOTALLY see this guy being good with women, as strange as that sounds. A lot of what he had to say really made a lot of sense to me, and when I did get to see him interact with women, I was impressed. I would really like to see him out in the field to get a better idea of how his techniques work. The guy is really engaging and funny, and that coupled with his unrelenting sexual advances could wind up accounting for a lot of lays.
Although, I do think my opinion may have been in the minority at the seminar. Obviously, David D thinks the guy is good, but I talked to more than a few PUAs who were less than impressed with what they heard and saw from him. Admitadely, the guy is married and doesn’t go out much anymore, but for some reason I get the sense that he’s telling the truth about his prowess. Call me crazy. =)
