Art of Approaching Review

Well, it looks like I got my first review of my book The Art of Approaching on mASF by blog regular Dangerous.  It’s an over-all positive review of the book, with a passage I liked in particular:

Dangerous writes:
I got to say people always send new bees to DYD as a e-book recommend for completely fresh on the scene or even on a budget as a recommend. I can honestly say that TC’s book should be along up there with the DYD e-book as a necessary recommend for the beginners.

You know what’s the cool thing is that for guys who have taken workshops and complain about not getting material and stuff from the sources or being referred to read someone’s archive or do a fuckin search…..this book may help in saving time so you actually have the material in hand. That’s at least what I got out of it. It has saved me time on creative juices for the moment so I can spend more time out there then at home coming up with excuses of working on material.

I would like if some of the guys out there who conduct workshops along with their DYD recommend put TC’s book along with it. It’s definitely a WORKSHOP PRIMARY that’s needed. So you big boys making a coin, cut some to TC so he can save you some time until you get your SHIT together…got it. You guys figure it out. Again it’s great for the newbie/novice, awesome for the openers alone, and a workshop primary. Of course if you’re a product junkie like myself then just buy it to get your fix ….”I got to have it” like toys…fuck so lame.

He gives a structure towards the openers and it has given me some ideas for my own story building a stacking purposes. Honestly you get bits and pieces on ASF. A lot of guys don’t like to give the full picture…I am protective towards my own material and I still am new to this..some guys only give you a tease purposely too. TC’s book I wish I had it before my workshop experience. It’s a good fun read. Any questions…hit me up I will do my best to answer in time. Oh go through Forms links if interested to check TC site for the book or even sign up to his newsletter for some free stuff. It’s a cheap book $29.99 USD or $40 Canuck….not bad got my moneys worth.

I’d be interested in hearing what others who’ve bought the book have to say, both good and bad.  Feel free to e-mail me at thundercatpua@yahoo.com if you have any feedback for me!

I would have bought this book the minute it came out, except for one thing. It’s in the same ebook format as SwingCat’s, right? I bought SwingCat’s book, and haven’t been able to do a thing with it because it’s so protected. I liked Deangelo’s ebook because I could print it, or put it on a different computer, or whatever. With SwingCat’s, I haven’t been able to print it, and it’s stuck on the computer I originally downloaded it on. It may be a great book, but I haven’t been able to read it because of all the limitations on it! I don’t want to waste another thirty bucks on a book I can’t read!

If I’m wrong about the format, please let me know, and I’ll buy it immediately!

The format for me was different from Swingg’s book. It can be printed.

It’s not the same software Swinggcat uses. It’s a different program, and I allow you to be able to print the book if you wish. I wanted to make this book more accessable because I had the same problem with Swingg’s book that many people had, which is it took me a long time to read it because I had to be at the computer, so I wanted to make sure that wasn’t the case with this book.

    Dudes,
You paid good money for Swinggcat’s book correct? And you are not satisfied? Do something about it!!

I bought Swinggcat’s book and was disappointed that it couldn’t be printed out. So I wrote Swinggcat and requested a hard copy of his book. He was kind enough to send me one at no extra charge.

By the way, you are correct, it’s much easier to read a hard copy of the book. Damn good book too.

The irony is that I bet a lot of people who purchased Swinggcat’s book haven’t read it because of the lousy format. It’s a great book and hopefully Swinggcat is aware of this problem.

    Notes on Thundy’s book:

Positives: while there wasn’t too many openers that I hadn’t heard already (I’ve taken several seminars and workshops), nowhere on ASF or in any other products is there such a complete compilation of material. It makes for a FANTASTIC reference.

The format is much easier to read and work with than Swingcat’s book. It has a product registration code that only works on one computer. I wanted to install it on two different computers, so I emailed Thundy about it. He sent me multiple codes so I could install it where I pleased. Turn around time for all requests was under 12 hours. Customer service was quality.

Negative: While it is possible to print the book out, I’ve not been able to figure out how to print it all at once. So far, I can only print it Section by Section, depending on which one is onscreen. If anyone has worked this out, please let me know.

All in all, its worth a purchase for anyone really. Good for newbies, seminar prep (see Dangerous post), guys who are building their material, and even experts as a good refresher.

Thanks for the info on Swinggcats book. I haven’t read much of it for the same reason. I don’t have the patience to sit and read from the computer screen. I’ll send him an email to see if he’ll send me a hard copy.

Also, I’m gonna order Thundercats book. Thanks for the reviews.

Thanks for the feedback about the book’s format. As promised, I bought the book (with a different email address) after finding I could print it.

So far it’s a great book! Thanks!

I paid for Swingcat’s book 3 days ago and still haven’t received a link to download. I emailed twice and no emails came back from his site.

  9. Slick says:

I had to write the man himself, but the book came through. I’m reading it now…

  10. Neal says:

I paid for Swinggcat’s ebook and downloaded it about 3 days ago. Since then I’ve been waiting for the username/password so I can read the damn thing and have sent Swinggcat and RWS lots of emails – but nothing…

    Any suggestions?

  11. b.thegame says:

Ok, I bought the swingcat book and can’t open it. I never got a username or password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey swingcat if you are out there hook me up.

  12. Jar says:

I downloaded his book 3 days ago, I got the username and password about 5 seconds after I dled it, I read it in one night and printed out a copy that same night. I musta gotten lucky.
