The Dreaded “Boyfriend” Line

So we’ve all had the experience of meeting a girl we’ve found attractive, we’ve engaged them, found them receptive and fun, we think we’re in there, just a stone’s throw away from hot monkey lovin’, and then she drops the bomb…

“I’ve got a boyfriend.”

There are various different schools of thought on how to handle the “Boyfriend” objection. I stumbled across a post on mASF about girls bringing up this objection early on in the interaction, and I thought Neo-Rio had a very good analysis of why this happens.

Neo-Rio writes:
Chicks who come up with “boyfriends” and other rejections mean you got her thinking about sex too quickly before she could come up with a rational explanation for how to explain fucking you in a socially acceptable format to everyone else after the fact. That’s the ASD, or Anti-Slut defense.

See, if she meets a guy who treats her like shit and then decides to get drunk with him and gets fucked by him in the back street alley, it’s OK. She was drunk, he was an asshole who she never really wanted, it’s all HIS FAULT.

And women will use that as a rational explanation for not being slutty.

So what you have is a horny women who wants you to “explain away” her boyfriend so she can get down and dirty.

Already she’s failed the screen… you want a girl who is open for sex, not bullshitting about her boyfriend all the time.

You should just LJBF any chick who won’t get with the game immediately. Then run game on them, and pivot them to get other women.

This is very true. I think the best explanation of the “I have a boyfriend” bomb I’ve ever heard came from Swinggcat and how he defined “Barriers” in one of his newsletters. In a way, this relates to what Neo-Rio writes about Anti-Slut Defense. This is basically the idea that women will erect these barries to screen out guys who are trying to sleep with them in an attempt to keep from feeling “cheap” or “slutty.”

Most guys who know what they’re doing in this community will tell you how easy it is to sleep with a girl once you know what you’re doing. They’ll say that the possibility exists with ALL girls that they will have sex with you, but that they erect these obstacles to keep you from getting them to that point. But if you know how to breakdown or bypass these barriers, you can get basically 99% of the women out there to sleep with you.

I think Neo-Rio’s comment on why this happens is very telling, though I’m not sure I agree with his suggestion at befriending them. I think there are still plenty of ways to salvage a situation like that.

Anyway, you can read the whole thread here.
