Sargethon – Help A Brother Out…

I got an email from a guy named Miso telling me about an upcoming event to help raise money for a community member’s mother who has liver cancer.  Now, LIVER cancer is big.  Big as in – this guy could lose his mother.  I think its great that these guys are trying to pull together and raise money to help this guy and his family out.

Miso writes:
Hey bro,

I’m just curious if you could possibly post the announcement about this event to your mailing list/website somehow:

http://sargeathon.com

It’s a 3-day fundraising event for our friend Snow and his mother who
is battling with liver cancer, and all the funds collected will go
towards her treatment and such… so I can’t really offer you any
affiliate fees or payouts of any sorts, aside from a huge "thank you"
for supporting our cause, and maybe a mention on the website itself and
referring some of the visitors to your website as well.

The event is happening this upcoming weekend, so the earlier you can
let everyone know about it, the better – there are still almost a dozen
seats available and we’d like to gather as much as possible in that
time. Plus, the event will feature some dozen or so speakers from all
walks of life and industries giving all attendees the best bang for
their buck – whatever amount they donate, that is, as this is a
fundraiser and there is no set fee for the workshop…

Thank you.

  1. Toronto Guy says:

Is this the Snow who got kicked out of the lair for defrauding members?

Is this the Miso who was schilling for Dimitri the lover?

Thundy – If you want some good drama to post, investigate these guys.

  2. Careful, dude… with all the good things you are doing, people might start to think you are a decent person at heart. ;)

    Love,

    Sean

P.S. I’ll be there in Tdot teaching for the Sargeathon, so get up there and get great teaching at a great price for a great cause.

    It’ll be great! :)

  3. Concerned says:

I’ve also heard some unsettling things about the validity of this event.

    :\

  4. Look dude, we all have things about us that aren’t perfect, and things that others can hold against us, true or not.

I don’t know the stories. And frankly, I don’t care. What I know is that Snow’s mom is dying (DYING, like, will be dead unless something big changes) of cancer, and we can help her.

If you don’t want to help, that’s fine. But don’t go out and put out rumors that it’s a questionable thing. It’s not, and I stake MY rep and word on it.

If anything shady happens from this event, I’ll close up shop and donate all my money to the charity of your choice.

It’s good to be careful with your choices in life, but any chance you have to do something positive, even if it’s not perfect, you have to take. Snow’s mom never did anything to hurt you. And now she needs help. We can help her. It’s that simple.

    Love,

    Sean

  5. Thundercat says:

Wow, I hope this isn’t a scam! I don’t know much about these guys, other than they’re trying to raise some money for a guy’s cancer-ridden mom.

If anyone has any information, please be sure to post it.

    Thundercat

  6. Someone says:

How does Snow’s mom get cured if you raise money? Healthcare is free in Canada!

  7. Miso says:

Yes, this is the same Snow who got “accused” of certain unethical business practices and got kicked out of his own lair for charging for his workshops and services (by the very same people who got lied into doing it by a few trouble makers and shit disturbers who had nothing better to do but accuse people around them who they didn’t jive with of things they only heard or made up on the fly).

And as far as me (Miso) and Dimitri the Lover go – don’t ever put me in the same sentence with that douche. Yes, I know the guy (how can I not, the freakin’ guy lives a few minutes away from me, plus we’ve got enough mutual acquaintances), but again, don’t ever EVER put us in the same boat. I might have introduced him and his way of thinking and his meetings to some people here in Toronto, but that’s about it – I don’t vouch for him in any way, shape or form (as he’s not the most stable individual around).

And as far as Snow’s mom goes, healthcare is free in Canada to a certain degree. But, the current healthcare practice almost killed his mom – she barely survived kemotherapy, her family gave up on her and pretty much considers the doctors’ advice (that she will die any day now) as the word of God, and the only way out is alternative medicines, practitioners and natural remedies… and some of these specialists live outside of the country, are not cheap, etc. (Hey, I had a family friend who went through the same process – barely survived kemotherapy, travelled to freakin’ Brazil to see a specialist who helped him a bit but effects of kemo got him a few weeks later on another side of the planet while in recovery with some other specialist in Europe and his body gave in…)

So, if you’ve got something concrete and constructive to contribute to this whole cause – do it. Otherwise, stop making shit up and spreading rumors that have no basis in reality. For all I know, the posts above could’ve been made by the same shit disturbers who caused all the b.s. here in Toronto and split the original lair for their own satisfaction and personal hidden agendas into pieces…
