I got an email from a fella named Byr today telling me about his new blog, which seems to be all about Badboy…
Hey Thundercat,
since there were so many positive things written about Badboys workshops in the past I thought it’s time to put things a little bit into perspective. So I created a little Blog a short time ago.
While it’s not directly related to PU itself it could be interesting for guys who want to participate at a workshop into the future.

So I did take a look, and I was surprized to find that almost every post had to do with critiquing Badboy. Here’s Byr’s reason for the blog…
I participated in a "Badboy-Workshop" at May 2004. I haven’t got the results I wanted and I wanted to make public that the Workshop wasn’t able to deliver according to the promises Badboy makes. But my honest update of my first very positive review of this workshop was deleted by Badboy from his forum. It’s also difficult to impossible to discuss the topic in his forum (where it belongs to inform potential new customers) because he deleted threads and banned me multiple times. As a result I created this Blog to post infos without being censored or banned.
I’m still struggeling with the problems I wanted so solve by taking the workshop. I know that it’s my responsibility to get the results I want and I do not blame Badboy for that. But I do blame him for decieving his customers, for the use of unethical marketing methods and for trying to destroy my credibility by making unfounded accusations.
Having never met Badboy or taken a workshop of his, I can’t speak to Byr’s accusations. I have had a number of friends of mine take Badboy’s workshop and come back extremely pleased with the results. I do know that Badboy now has a new management team for his business and a few of his old cohorts have splintered off to form Fidentia, a rival workshop business. Could this be the reason for the sudden change? Who knows. It will be interesting to keep an eye on Byr’s blog, though.

This guy seems a bit ridiculous. He turns everything Badboy says around and uses it against him. It seems more political.
Badboy/Direct is a style, just like Mystery Method is a style and all that jazz. This guy ought to find real scams to stalk, like Speed Seduction.
lol, just playin Ross. You know what I mean. This guy is putting too much energy in going against something that doesn’t really matter in the grand scale of things.
I feel sorry for him really. The effort he puts into this and not himself is just sad for me to see.
Badboy is awesome. I’ve met a LOT of his recent students and they were all happy…
However plenty of people have trouble continuing to improve after the workshop, which is a problem with the students, regardless of the instructor. Probably this guy is just bitter about that.

Some words about the background:
I’m not a Badboy-hater. I participated at one of his WS and really liked it at the moment but I got no results.
After the WS Badboy demanded a review I should post in his public forum before he grants me access to his students-forum. I wrote it and it was really positive because it was written in the afterglow of the WS experience. But few weeks later I was back to normal and had in fact not seen any progress compared to my state before the WS. So two months later I wrote a second review because I thought it was my responsibility to give readers of my first review an update to put things right.
Result: The post was deleted from the forum (while my first positive review is still there until now) and Badboy (and Nighlife who was the co-instructor at my WS) tried to constrain posts of my problems to the hidden forum. After I posted sometimes in the public part of the forum (because a lot more people are writing there and I got much more and also better ideas on how to improve) I was banned from the forum altogether.
Afterwards I looked in the forum from time to time and sometimes read statements from Badboy how he is able to help anybody, how to ‘fix’ them in few hours if they visit his workshops. After he called me ‘sick’ in one post after someone ask about why he had killed some of my posts, I was admittedly pissed and created the blog to post things Badboy couldn’t delete. Also I looked up some of his posts and put them there to make clear how he seems to think about his business, his students and how he uses exaggerated claims to sell his workshops.
Thats all. Its not my ‘life’ and I also don’t want to stalk him. I simply wanted to put things right. After I created the blog I got some mails from other guys with similar problems who encouraged me to go on and so I continued a little bit longer then I originally wanted. I don’t know how long I will carry on with this blog because there is not much more to say. But I thought it could be interesting for others who think about participating at a WS and who had only read positive reviews before. And so I sent a little mail to thundercat to make it more public.
Of course it’s up to you to draw your own conclusions. I simply want to give out more informations to allow people to get a more complete picture.

Moto, thats a quite reasonable point of view. And business isn’t bad – as long as it delivers. If not: People should say it loud and stop finding excuses for someone only because they bought his product.
Most important: Students really need to stop writing reviews to soon after a WS. Wait 2-3 month, review your situation and then write an honest review. If you’re satisfied and also if not.
But if certain WS vendors really bribe their customers by only giving refunds to dissatisfied students which don’t write a bad review thats MUCH worse then paying girls to let themselfs pick up by a student or instructor. If someone can really prove that, NOBODY should ever even consider to take a WS with one of these vendors.
This whole stuff got really commercial. So treat it like that: Demand real results for real money.
Fidentia instructors demonstrate approaches and also tell the theory part.
Fidentia students usually walk through city and approach AT WILL the girls they see. It’s like “fire at will”:)

I’ve heard the same about Mystery as well, but haven’t seen any evidence.
Moto is just some competitor. who is such an exzuer that he can’t ewen use his real internet nick, we have seen them before:)
The “afterglow” effect is very real and is a bane to customers of self-help seminars and the like a boon to business. Many seminars will rev folks up so that they feel like outstanding changes have happened and they’re on top of the world (the groupthink and bandwagon effects help a lot as does isolation from their normal lives) and it is at that moment when many trainers ask for feedback or testimonial (a few will even shove a camera in folks’ faces and ask them in turn to say good things with an added incentive of a partial refund gift in exchange for the testimonial, creating group peer pressure to respond as well as in essence paying for positive commercial testimonials . . . ethically very very suspect but unfortunately a practice that has become more common of late).
Once folks go back to their old lives then the context anchors all fire and boom they slip back into old habits and thought patterns.
If a seminar “guarantees” permanent change then it should deliver . . . the onus is on both the trainer and the student to affect the change . . . it ain’t a magick bullet . . . but responsible business practices are important.
Shills waiting in bars to meet and greet students? Really? Don’t know about any particular training setup but it wouldn’t suprise me.
Then again, there are probably folks who would consider that sort of thing an effective and valuable confidence-raising exercise (certainly a lot of folks who go to seminars would have difficulty talking to women who are paid to pretend to like them and talk to them so for them having success even with that would seem a giant leap forward). However, it would seem to be more of gimmick than actual change. Kind of like the folks who see the “vertigo” induction for what it is versus the ones who rant about how pioneering it is.
I agree that one should not write what should be a thoughtful review until well after an event. You’ll get better perspective on how well you have been able to integrate the processes and skills into your life and be able to note longterm benefits at that level.

Well with all due respect,.. I think the guy has a point. He paid for real results and he didn’t get them. So stop with this “The guy is responsible for the results… ” crap.. that’s why he paid someone.
Well I personally met someone who took BadBoy’s workshop and I think I saw him in a video testemonial by BadBoy. Well.. I admit the guy was very alpha.. yeah.. he showed me the proper way to sit in a chair and taking a lot of space… umm.. okay.. but I prefer the good old fashioned way of talking to the girl and concentrate on her rather than the chair. And besides tips and mumbo jumbo about taking space the guy just couldn’t approach and that’s someone BadBoy puts on a god damn video testomonial.
Instead of paying someone to take the responsibility off you just take responsibility yourself and go get laid. It’s called growing up.

Well so now I know that this bad boy guy is full of shit simply because of the reactions he’s getting.
I dunno for some reason I already thought he was full of shit, though; Just a hunch I guess.
So I think the only thing left is actual video proof of these guys going into situations and doing pick-ups to prove they are what they claim. These guys need to be taken to some neutral place where there are chicks that they don’t know and do some sets and see if they get results. Films should be made by neutral parties and proof should thus be provided for these cats running workshops.
I really would like to see Mystery in one of these and this Tyler Durden Catfish oh and I REALLY wanna see Rick-H bomb out time after time. This Badboy cat should be involved too. And of course David DeAngelo.

I couldnt even fucking talk to women before BB. I had 2 fuck offers since i came back to states. Granted, i havent been going out much lately due to other happenings in my life, but its almost a breeze now to get a number or an email. Kiss closes arent all they cracked up to be either.

Simple, but not encouraging, since this community should not be going full circle to where AFCs are taking advice from the same hotties who sent them here in the first place. Why would a chick bother with any of this if nothing was in it for her? Even if she’s the guru’s girlfriend, she benefits from his bottom line so the lines start blurring and she becomes like a cocktail waitress. Her feedback at a workshop won’t be the same as if she’s hit on during her normal life. I don’t see this as misleading because the customers should be able to piece that together from their mere presence.
As for the accusations about planting chicks at bars, the chicks are the only ones who will be believed so until I hear it from them I’d give the benefit of the doubt. On the other hand, it’s possible to do this, and students should be aware of that or any other “smoke and mirror” tricks and take preventive measures to avoid even the possibility. The guru who is well known on the nightlife circuit might be teaching some accounting geek who doesn’t want to build that kind of network, and not realize that his lifestyle won’t transfer to his student.
I’m willing to take Fidentia at face value when they deny these allegations, but I also have to say that even the best-case scenario leaves two key unanswered questions, namely how much of their game is based on the extra money and alpha status they get for being gurus. When they hit on women, they are doing so as “experts” in male-female interaction and that will get a chick’s interest, and they obviously are paying their bills at least in part with money from the men they lead. If what they do and how much they make a year is relevant to the women (and it is), then it is also relevant to the students. In a country like Croatia, where beauty queens often fuck guys for peanuts, anyone banking what a guru banks should have high status in that country’s nightlife, unless they are living in a bubble.
What would happen if two students just went out on their own and one pretended to be the wealthy guru teaching his newbie wing in public in a way that chicks would overhear it and butt in?
Finally, when people start getting banned from boards and websites with commercial ties to the community, we never know if we’re hearing all points of view, even if we are. One thing that’s obvious from what Byr writes is that all that will accomplish is to move the debate to a blog or somewhere else rather than quash it.

Entertainment! Fuckin-A I’d like to see these cats prove themselves and actually even possibly learn a trick or two. Who wouldn’t? Have you heard about this thing that Millions of people are staying at home doing lately? Its called “Reality TV” and If you knew any women they would have told you all about it already.

Geese, there is one flaw in your suggestion about videos helping to decide which guys are the best teachers. That flaw is that there are many instructors working for the same company.
Lets take RSD for example. If you took a video of Tyler Durden picking up, you’d be impressed and amazed and ready to sign up for RSD. However, you’d end up with a bunch of guys as instructors (none of whom are TD), who probably are picking up average chicks at best and are limited in what they can teach you.
Therefore, video proof won’t help that much…
….the best thing is to ask former students as many questions as you wish……
…..as that’s the best way to figure out what you can expect from a workshop….

I am so sick of reading all this stupid ‘gossip’ on here, all the people that post here really have nothing better to do with there time (i realize the irony of that statement), but guyz get a life – the fact that Cameron bothers to answer some of these posts ( okay he’s defending his business fine, but jeeeeeesus)

For what it’s worth, I’ve heard from people that I trust that Mystery is the real deal, and that his structure is actually very good once you hear him explain it.
Ya know what, I think there is gonna be a seduction trend coming up in the future soon. You can already see it building and with this Prime Time Live episode coming up, everyone and their brother is going to jump on this seduction band wagon and soon there could be a marketing frenzy for all this stuff.
I wonder how effective some of this stuff will be once word gets out and every dork and his father starts “Negging” chicks and trying butchered patterns and doing, “cocky funny” and approaching with the same “canned material” that everyone else uses?

I believe the book will do well and all that, and some people will be introduced to this community throught he book and the tv stuff… but there has already been a movie about a guy who teaches men how to become attractive (Hitch). Also movies like Roger Dodger and Swingers, etc.
I still haven’t overheard anybody talking about pick up artists anywhere I’ve ever been.
The general population has a short memory span… and who the fuck watches dateline religiously anyway?! A lot of people will see it, but how many of those people are going to go shout it from a mountain top?
As far as the book… it’s like 464 pages… I did a report on television watching in the U.S. and found a statistic that says that 60% of the population doesn’t read another book after graduating from school. You really think even HALF of the people will read a book that long when they normally don’t even read small books? How many of the people who actually do are going to be attractive girls?
Yeah, I think there will be more exposure, but the techniques are in the reading, and so how are the girls going to know about “neg-hits” “Cocky and funny”,back turns, etc virtually all successful guys tease girls anyway. If girls Do start making fun of guys for using “lines” then PEOPLE WILL JUST CHANGE THE WORDING, AND EVEN COME UP WITH NEW APPROACHES no big deal… it’s just like the Red Queen theory… as others catch on, we’ll still be a step ahead.
Well, I should only dream that the general female population finds out about the indirect methods and become savvy to them!
In the meantime, those of us who don’t play silly little games like backturns, negs and ballbusting will keep doing what we are doing, and since we don’t have any canned material, will not even worry about these things.
Oh yeah, I guess Shark’s openers are canned… So we’ll make up a few new openers that are free of excuses, no big deal.
I wonder if there will be “secret,” for-pay indirect forums where you can learn new routines and canned stuff only if you “promise not to tell anyone” because “once it gets out it will be worthless!”
