Now this is a wierd development. In their latest newsletter, titled "Now They’re Threatening Us," authors of the book How To Succeed With Women Ron Louis and David Copeland reveal that there’s some drama going on between them and another "well known" guru.

Our competitors are not happy about our seminar. And some of them are getting personal.
One competitor actually wrote to us and threatened us after our recent newsletter exposed the many downsides of trying to be "Cocky and Funny" and manipulate women.
He told us be had better "watch out," and to not blow the whistle on the scams that many newly-minted "dating gurus" use to take money out of shy men’s pockets.
But that’s what makes us different. We don’t teach elaborate techniques that only work if you have natural charisma or could be a talented hypnotist.
We don’t expect you to spend every waking moment of your life studying "techniques" and "patterns" so you can finally get what you want with women.
Here’s what we do — We teach "dirt simple" success with women — the kind of success that works for every guy.
It’s a big claim, but we can back it up. We’ve been coaching men in dating for 10 years. That means we’ve been helping men since long before the internet made it easy for any guy to call himself a dating guru, and to take men’s money.
Owch. Since David DeAngelo is the only guy who lays legitimate claim to the "cocky funny" moniker, I’m assuming that it was him who contacted Ron & Dave. I’m not really sure he told them not to "blow the whistle on the scams that many newly-minted "dating gurus" use to take money out of shy men’s pockets." But it wouldn’t surprize me if he did contact them about bashing his techniques in their previous newsletter.

I guess you fail to realize where Yates ends and you begin. As your business partner, he is representing you, so you are responsible for what comes out of his mouth to your students. That is, if you’re really the one in charge. If you’re NOT, then my statement of you being nothing more than Yates’ voicebox is accurate.
So which is it?
“Mr. Emery was booted from my camp for cheating my students; he took money for book orders that he never delivered upon and then he lied about it. I also subsequently learned that he had a previous history of cheating people on the internet(the Beanie Baby scandal) which he hid from me, and then lied about when I confronted him.”
I don’t recall challenging why you “booted” me. At the most, I just mentioned how interesting it is that I was booted months AFTER the so-called “scam”. Like, a few weeks after I pulled my products from your catalog. I challenge you to PROVE it didn’t happen that way. I can certainly prove that it DID.

My actual reasons for this dialogue today, is because I was disgusted by the quote where you felt it was only “in some ways” fucked up what you did that resulted to the falling out of you and Eben.
And you need to calm your ego, regarding thinking YOU deserve credit for my sales. You tried to discredit me, and now you want the credit for my sales???? I guess this is yet another example of you thinking you created all good things in the seduction community. Wrap your head around the fact that the people who have ever even heard of Bishop make up an incredibly small percentage of the buyers of seduction products. I suppose you also want to take responsibility for David D’s sales, and Mystery’s as well??? Get over yourself, and go enjoy Jimbo, or Jumbo, or whatever her name is.

On topic, I don’t see how David helping out women implies that he’s being a traitor. If it even is him, and not a friend or employee, the book isn’t even out yet.
Just an update to let you guys know that I have confirmation of my, as Paul calls them, “imaginary” friend, that they will be speaking to Paul’s seminar attendees this weekend, in New York.
He can’t cry “harassment” as it will simply be two people having a conversation. Granted, the conversation is likely to influence the approached attendees to ask Paul some specific questions in front of the whole class. But, they will be completely ON TOPIC, so he won’t even be able to say that I am trying to undermine or sabotage his seminar. It will all simply be a paying customer who had a conversation with someone, and it resulted in that paying customer wanting clarity from Paul (Which is the whole point of attending the seminar, right?).

It took me almost three days to read your guys’ messages. Dam there is so much to learn. I feel kind of betrayed by David D, Carter, Eban or wahtever his names it. But then again this can be good for us guys. I mean, like someone pointed out earlier and i don’t quote exactly; who doesn’t get stuff from someone esle. No matter how much you study, other poeople’s mentality influece you. Same thing with DeAngelo, he may not be 100% original on what he teaches but it sure does work. Besides, he even says on his introductions that he tried everything out there and found what really worked. Even on his seminars he always brings different PUAs to give different overviews on diffrent types of seduction. i give him credit for that becuase he leaves room for you to actually take the good parts and leave the bad parts. He is like the one that brings them all together. His stuff has worked for me and I’m sure that Ross’s would too. I understand that ppl have different points of views for everything but they should just stop talking about each other.

Sure. I’ll meet you. But in the meantime, are you saying YOU authored the Catch Him And Keep Him ebook? That you write the newsletters as well?
And that DeAngelo/Pagan has nothing to do with the marketing of this project, even though you were described, by Thundercat, as a DYD team member.
In the final analysis, if you wrote the book at Pagan’s request or he is involved in the marketing of it, it is still a betrayal of his DYD customer list. He’s still promoting and marketing a product that tells women to avoid the men who do the stuff he teaches in the DYD ebook.

Wow. For once, I actually agree with you.
Though I’ll give a lot of credit to David DeAngelo for helping me get my entire lifestyle in order, DYD is certainly not the end all-be all of a successful lifestyle. Really, all these systems are an awesome starting point to help you develop your own natural tendencies, not to mimic David DeAngelo, Mystery, Tyler Durden or Ross Jeffries.
And, if there’s someone out there who can do the same thing for women that David DeAngelo has helped me do, then I’ll stand behind them. Sure, there’s going to be women who read Christian Carter’s book and are going to go on a power-trip and turn into Man Eating Chicks, just like what happened when “The Rules” came out. But, let’s not forget that a lot of us guys freaked out and went crazy when we first realized we could actually have power with the opposite sex, too (see: Lord of The Rings). The majority of women who actually embrace this, I feel, will be ladylike about it and use it to develop a more interesting personality. And, that’s something I’ll support any day.

One has a girl thats blazing hot that begs him to be with her all the time. Literally, about every minute. He never read anything about it, but he does a lot of what DeAngelo talks about. I’ve seen other things too but it’s nearly word for word. I skimmed his book and it’s all I needed. I just watch guys who get the girls. It’s the best way. Okay I am amazed at all of the bashing going on in here. So David LEARNED from others, formed a business and repackaged ideas…yeah and?
I mean isn’t that what everyone from Tony Robbins to Earl Nightingale did, after Napolean Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich”? How many new books are nothing but repackaged, redesigned and prettied up ideas from the past? LOTS and lots! How many truly new and unique ideas are there in this world anyway? Not many, I can assure you. So he was the guy who marketed C&F, so what? Look, I don’t see what all of the fuss is about, other than jealousy. And I have seen David D give A GREAT DEAL of credit to everyone from Napolean Hill to Tony RObbins and yes, other PUS teachers, many others!
You know who loses credibility in this discussion? Without naming names, the guys who come into this thread and bash their competitors. I mean you want the truth? I am good with women and I started out with David D’s material. I believe that I am now evolved past it, but you know what? I would NOT have evolved past it in the first place if he didn’t give me some GREAT starting material to evolve past, in the first place.
I have a bunch of his products, including the Advanced Series, Cocky Comedy, the original eBook and the new “Bars & clubs” program. The truth is that I am sending the Bars & Clubs program back because it really comes off as “more of the same” to me, and I am within the “guarantee period”. I also share the guy above, who’s opinion that David D’s litany in one of the Cocky Comedy DVD’s about how EVERYONE needs to get…(and he listed all of his programs)…was a tad offensive.
Anyway, I am amazed at the gross personal attacks I see in this discussion. I have respect for David D, no reason not to. he is selling a series of products that have helped me and a lot of other people.
As for the book he wrote for women, if he really even wrote it. Here’s a thought:

I checked out his ebay shop – “deangelo communications” … The whole marketing scheme, I got all I need from this guy .. Hope it works for me. There are good concepts articulated well but if you hadnt already thought of the outline of them prior – then I doubt you’d properly understand them.

I’m interested in creating social proof on short notice and in environments that are not my own.
I want to work something out before hand in restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and theatres so they treat me like the shit in front of her…calling me by my last name and treating me with deference. You would not believe how much mileage you get out of this.

Well, I was interested to compare DeAngelo with Ross Jeffries in order to evaluate and theoretically understand the difference between approaches and in this post I found all the information I need. From what I know by now:
1) Ross Jeffries teached fundamental things and remains a forefather and a guru.
2) DeAngelo is more into “social proofing” i.e. making oneself look more attractive BEFORE the actual contact and immediately after.
Besides that, I am amazed. Perhaps in PU community, where success is measured by women you get, regular human norms are considered unnecessary. Yes, it is self-evident that all the authors Jeffries criticed here did lift a significant portion of material from Jeffries’ products. In academic community this is considered plagiarism, please understand. When Jeffries says ‘you lifted’ he means this in academic sense. Total misunderstanding of his point and referring to some moral/business/other issues is irrelevant here. Fingerfucking someone’s girlfriend, being impolite, pathetic or whatever you call him is irrelevant to the issue. Especially I enjoyed posts about RJ’s girlfriend, totally lame, seems like a teenager wrote them
Be serious. You may get away with that sort of communication talking to PU community members and it’s OK while you get the girls and sell your products to support your lifestyle, but please be sure you will not be an alpha male once you attempt to interact with natural-born alpha males in this manner.
Personally I will be using Jeffries’ products as a core and will pay attention DeAngelo and others just to be more effective.

I think it should be clear for an intelligent person that traits of character or business wisdom has nothing to do with one’s abilities as a trainer. That’s why I believe Jeffries is fundamental. On top of that, DeAngelo might be good as well.

I don’t care if DD copies anything from anybody. He does a great job at putting everything together, in a presentable and concise way. I maybe paying more for this organization of the material, than for the material itself. And to be honest, I like the sound of that even more.
DD is great and all you newbies out there, take this advise from the NATURALY smart people in this world, like Paul, and dig into DD. That’s pretty much all you need, if you have to shuffle time for work, school, etc etc. and don’t have much time for other extensive scientific stuff.
I also watched a little of Ross Jeffries 99 videos. RJ comes off a little arrogant in his videos. He is always doing something awkward while guests are speaking (like when Dave is talking about AOL pick ups in his 99 video 6 seminar).
RJ, you are my man too though. I started this out with you and your book years back, and I had instant success the day after reading your book. It was shocking. Sometime laster I arrogantly thought I kind of had something going for me… until I met DD and realized that I acctually had a lot of work ahead of me. I mean, if you watch DD’s new Deep Inner Game material it will blow you away. The Mastery program is awesome as well.

Easier to hate than to sarge. Alot of guys like to use what they learn on other guys in forums because it’s easier than getting into the field and trying it on women.
There’s a whole bunch of guys trying to use what they learn on other guys, which is weird, sure, but it still gives you the idea that you’re learning and accomplishing something I guess. Some people are so caught up in their agenda that they constantly have their guard up and find it impossible to be themselves.
If David D is the biggest fraud on the face of this earth, I don’t really care. Either way I have found that a good PORTION of his materials hit the FOUNDATIONS required to get your “game” together.
Sure I think the ideal of “cocky & funny” has been taken WAY TOO FAR and has many people USING it for MANIPULATIVE purposes, but David D has CLEARLY noted that this wasn’t his intent. He only wanted guys to become familiar with the idea of flirting with women and that’s what C&F is. All it comes down to is “I’m pretending to be the very thing I am joking about” and that is being jokingly arrogant.
I find that the best approach to any of this stuff is to actually figure out your OWN thought on all of it instead of everyone else forming it for you. That’s why you need to find out what will work for you and not go by what others will say will work for you.

Its crazy how a little google search landed me here reading a bunch of grumbling old men posting libel over and over again at eachother. After getting some emails from “chris carter” about how to “catch and keep” men I researched him only to find out he also goes by David D – and so I read some of his advice to men. I think he’s a little shady for going by all these names but he’s also a smart businessman. If one doesn’t take it too deeply — his advice still can work for both sexes. I found myself agreeing with both his advice to women and men– when I read his advice to men I found myself feeling flirty and attracted — I was reminded of a guy that I was secretly obsessed with years ago (so sexy and funny and confident— although already extremely good looking to begin with -think John Stamos- so I’m not sure these lessons would have ever “worked” on me had he been sub par in looks). Anyway- I’m a girl (25)- (probably an 8 in looks) who now is in a great long term loving/sexy relationship with a sexy smart greek PHD so I can’t relate at all to most of your customers. Its very easy to find sex– (for almost any decent looking girl or any good looking guy) although once you find it and get used to it on a casual level I doubt you will ever be fulfilled in life EVER— you’ve made it to be a drug instead of a nutrient.
