Merging a loose set

In one of Tyler’s rare, short articles, he shares with us a really great tactic for keeping a tenuous set together, despite all odds.

Tyler Durden writes:
Something that I always do is remerge a loose set. I go in and hook IOIs from the girl that I opened immediately. The second that I see that the IOIs are there and that she’ll do whatever I ask, I will use an opinion opener and say that I want a full panel female opinion and to call her friend over. This way I can remove the other girl from whatever guy she is attached to, and if the girl doesn’t want to leave the guy then I will say over and over “Yell at her to come over. Tell her too, I really want to ask her this.” I do this when I pull 2sets with PlayboyLA quite often if its afterhours on the street. I will see the IOIs from a girl, and start walking with her and tell her over and over to yell at her friend to come too. I’ll also say “Tell her I’m nice, and to listen to this story”, or anything like that, in order to unlock the friend. If she says it enough times, particularly if she’s the dominant friend, it will work well. PlayboyLA does the same for me if he hooks IOIs with his girl before I hook them with mine.

I prefer this because it gets my wing a girl as well, and also because if left loose, the girl can become a potential problem if she grows bored of the guy that she is with (often the case with AFC naturals), and then just drag her friend off out of jealousy that she is having fun with me. I may well re-isolate right after, but now the obstacle has met me and won’t unpredictably make an issue for me in most cases.

This is good stuff. I think a lot of people don’t quite understand the importance of having solid group theory while sarging. I mean, being able to merge different sets and play them off of each other is a real advanced (yet vital) skill to have if you want to get REALLY good at pick-up.
