Your Prayers Are Needed And Welcomed…

Hi all,
Some of you may have noticed the blog hasn’t been getting it’s regular updates. Well, there’s a reason for this. Among other things, my father was recently hospitalized. He contracted a serious case of pneumonia, which somehow lead to problems with his liver and kidneys.
When his liver and kidney functions were starting to shut down, he was rushed to the hospital.
It has been a very stressful time period for my family and I, and when someone you care so deeply about could die, little things like updating a blog tend to fall by the wayside.
My father is doing better after some treatment, so it seems the worst is behind us. However, I would appreciate it if those of you out there who believe in prayer would keep him in mind. He’s the greatest man I know, and the thought of losing him really affected me.
All too often, I think we can easily take those who are close to us for granted – whether they be our parents, siblings, or friends, we never seem to know what it is we have in our lives until its gone.
I consider myself lucky that my father made it through this experience, and it has really given me a new appreciation for all the blessings I have in my life.
As I was taking stock of all the things I normally take for granted that I am so thankful I have in my life, I realized that one of those things is actually this blog, and all those who take the time to post on it.
I’ve been running this site since 2004, which means it’s been almost 4 years now. I’ve has some good times with it, and some bad times, but I always come back because this community really means a lot to me, as does your participation in this site.
As the year comes to a close, I’m going to do my best to update the site more regularly than I have been. And I’ve got some great posts coming up that I’ve just been too busy to write lately, but I’ll be taking time to deliver them to you soon.
So I guess for now – thank you for reading and keeping this site going, and please, keep my father in your prayers.

Having lost my father to lung cancer a few years ago, I can relate to your observation that this type of ordeal can give you a deeper understanding and appreciation for life’s blessings. The other thing is I am sure that your Dad appreciates your strength in being there for him more than you know.

It’s times like this that you realize what matters most. We can seduce all the girls in the world, but ultimately it’s about the people we care about that matter. I am new to the community and I’m realizing that there’s a fair bit of competition, but at the end of the day we are all human and searching for validation. It can be in the form of making a lot of money or seducing random hot girls. I just really feel for you because I’ve seen two deaths this year that are really really….unnecessary and sad. Count your blessings and don’t worry about this blog. Your family is much more important. I’ll be praying for you and yours.

All rivalries set aside, my thoughts are with you.
I lost my beloved Mom, April 29 of this year. She had been ill with liver cancer for over a year.
My father will be 90 in a few days and his health continues to decline. Believe me, I know what it is to live in fear that your dearest love ones will be taken from you.
And my younger brother was diagnosed with advanced stage leukemia just about a month ago; he’s finished his chemo but is quite weak.
So truly, my heart goes out to you. Keep close to your family, and your friends.

I wish your Dad a speedy and successful recovery. My Dad had a stroke and needed seven bypasses last November. It changed my outlook on life.
