Mystery’s New TV Show…

Okay, I’ve been getting a couple of emails from people about this, so I figured I’d blog a little bit to try and clear the air.
It’s no secret that pick-up artist Mystery has been trying to achieve super-stardom for years. First he wanted to be the world’s greatest illusionist, now he wants to be a world-famous rock star. But in the meantime, I guess he wants to be a world-famous cable TV star.
In 2006, Mystery shot a pilot episode for a TV show about him teaching poor guys unlucky in love how to be pickup artists. The show is being produced and will air on VH1, home to such great shows as "Where Are They Now?" and "I Love The 80s."
Recently, VH1 has been pursuing more reality based shows, such as Flavor Of Love and Celebrity Fit Club. I’m guessing that Mystery’s show may very well be in the same vein as these types of popular shows on the network. From what I can understand, the show (which doesn’t yet seem to have a name) is a combination of a filmed bootcamp being taught by Mystery, and the show "Beauty and the Geek" (only without the beauties.)
I’ve heard the show was shot while Mystery was shacked up in Project
Miami, a mansion down in Florida, and that the show also contains
Mystery Method instructors Lovedrop, TenMagnet, and Mehow. Now, I
don’t know if this is actually the case, but this is what I’ve heard.
I’ve talked to a few people who’ve seen the show, and heard some
mixed reviews. None of them have been negative, though, which is a
good thing. Guys who are pretty well-versed in "the pickup scene"
found the show fairly boring, while guys who know nothing about the
venusian arts thought the show was "mind blowing." So I guess there’s
a lot of instruction involved in the show which could appeal to the
average joe, which is a good thing I suppose.
Now, there are a few things that don’t bode well for the VH1 show.
The first of which is that lots of emails I’ve been getting from
community guys are bitching about this show ruining the community with
mainstream exposure, and rendering a lot of the common routines,
openers, etc. ineffective.
To that, I just have to say that The Game was supposed to ruin the
community too, and that seemed to be just fine. In fact, it brought a
lot of new blood into the scene, which I think is a good thing. So in
my opinion, Mystery doing this show is a positive thing, because not
only will it help guys out there who watch it, it’ll also bring fresh
blood into the scene – which means new innovations.
A little more troublesome than "bad community buzz" is the fact that
Mystery’s former business partner, Nick Savoy, was the one who set up
this show for him. Since Mystery and Nick split ways, and are locked
in a pretty bitter legal battle at the moment, I’m unsure as to how
this will affect the show. I don’t know what kind of contracts were
made with VH1, Mystery Method, and Mystery himself, but there is no
doubt things have probably gotten complicated.
There’s probably a good chance that the show will be delayed until
the court issues between Mystery and his former company are resolved,
since VH1 probably doesn’t want to be involved in a legal quagmire.
This, of course, means there’s a chance VH1 could just scrap the whole
project all together.
Or, the show could be released, and though Mystery is the host of
the show, the advertising could be entirely for Mystery Method, instead
of Mystery’s current business Venusian Arts. So who knows what is
going to happen with this?
I do know that at the moment, the show isn’t scheduled to premier
anytime soon, and its unclear if more than just one episode has been
filmed (I don’t think there has, but I haven’t bothered to find out for
sure.) So there’s also a chance that VH1 won’t pick it up as a series,
and there will just be a single episode of Mystery teaching guys how to
pickup women floating out there somewhere.
I guess in the meantime, Mystery is just going to have to be content
with being a pick-up superstar, as opposed to a TV superstar.
If anyone out there has more information on this, shoot me an email and let me know.
Apparently from a Venusian arts email that went out today (how ironic) that there will be 8 episodes and they will start airing August 8th.
From the looks of it, it seems TMM has nothing to do with the show because it is being heavily hyped up by Venusian arts. I could be wrong I guess we shall have to wait and see.
Is it true that Mystery is not doing bootcamps any more?
GREAT!
I fucking pay lots of money to get Mystery’s DVDs and the VAH and now the fucking MM is getting useless!
We will never be able to approach because the HB will freaking laugh out loud and say “oh nice opinion opener. how are you going to continue? A little piece of magic? A little cold reading?”
I have been studying TMM for several years now and put believe me, REALLY A LOTS OF time, money and efforts into it!
If I now have to switch to another pu style, it will cost me several years again!!
Only those in a fear-based, scarcity mindset will look at this as being a “bad idea.”
Look, guys, if your game is real, it doesn’t have a NAME, like Mystery Method, or whatever. It should be YOU. If it isn’t you, you’re being fake, manipulative, and probably getting what you deserve.
Inner game – the confidence to live the Alpha Lifestyle is what this is ALL about.
Gimme an AMEN, Alpha brothers.
Patrick, thanks for the heads up. I know that 9 episodes is the minimum needed for international syndication, so that makes sense that a test-drive season would only be the pilot plus 8. I’ll have to keep an eye out for August 8th to see how this show will work.
Honestly, I’m excited for this show! Mystery is very charismatic and fun to watch, so he’s probably going to be great on the show. I’m hearing mixed things about how involved the Mystery Method company is, but no matter how you cut it, the exposure for the show will be good for everyone involved.

(And the first rule about Fight Club is…)
This show will ruin our community and I am so pissed off!!!!
You know there are likely as many women as men who read your literature and posts. I don’t think that guys with well developed charm will be hurt. If a guy is good in bed he’ll be fine as well. It’s the canned act that will be busted out of the water.
