Dating on MySpace?

If you haven’t noticed the trend in online dating away from the pay sites like "Match.com" over to the free community-based sites like MySpace and Friendster, it’s probably time you stood up and paid attention. I know a lot of guys who just spend their days crawling through profile after profile on sites like MySpace looking for hot chicks in their area who are open to meeting up, and some of them have a great deal of success.
Obviously, sites like MySpace and Friendster don’t have the same stigma attached to them as most dating sites do, and not only that, but it’s more interactive and customizable. Many of the women on the site seem to use it as their personal web site that they send all their friends to, because it can be used as a blog and you can send announcements to all your friends. Not only that, but you can upload tons of pictures. Indeed, sites like MySpace are like online crack for a lot of women.
Not only that, but MySpace also hosts a lot of parties across the country where they encourage their members to attend. I must admit, I’ve gone to one of these events, and considering it was a gathering place for a bunch of people who spend a lot of their time online, it was incredibly wild.
It’s my experience (and some of you may disagree with me), that most of the women you find on MySpace can be quite pretty, smart, funny, etc. But a lot of them aren’t the best in the "social skills" department, which is probably why they’ve fallen back onto an online outlet to meet others in the first place. Indeed, there are a great many women who are too busy to have any social life at all who rely on sites like this to meet friends and have fun with (like strippers, for instance. There’s an ungodly ammount of strippers on sites like MySpace! =) I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with the women on these sites, just that none of them really know how to meet people, so they’re more open to dating guys who actually bother to do the work to approach them.
Now, that’s not always true. You do occasionally find party girls on there, and some of the women are too young to bother with. But because these are free services, you’re always getting an influx of fresh blood into the system, which means the "picking ground" never gets stagnant.
I personally haven’t really developed any hard-core strategies for these kinds of community-based websites, but I’m sure some of you out there have. I’d love to hear any suggestions you guys have for dating women off these sites.
Rumors Of My Demise Have Been Exagerated…

Hi All,
You might have noticed there has been little updating of the blog recently. Well, it’s not because I’ve left the community or been killed by a MINE’99 sponsored hit squad. I just took some "mental health" time to get my bearing and unwind a bit. I found that I was spending WAY too much time on the internet while it was beautiful and sunny outside, so I took a week or so off to enjoy my life for a while. That meant absolutely NO internet, NO email, and definitely NO blog! =)
Of course, today I come back to find over 1500 messages in my inbox (a new record, the previous was around 632!). So now I start the long and arduous process of weeding through the email and finding which ones are worth responding to! So if you’ve been trying to get in touch with me and haven’t heard anything back, know that I’ll be getting to your email soon.
I also haven’t read any of the replies you guys have been posting since I took my little vacation, so I’m not even sure what (if any) drama is going on right now. If anyone want’s to give me the "Cliff Notes" version in this thread, please feel free.
I’ll be returning to regular blog updates tomorrow (Tuesday August 2nd), and I’ll also be updating SeductionLair.com later on tonight as well.
