John Kennedy (no, not the dead President) has a pretty good post over on the Playboy Central forum about how to be cooler than other guys.
John Kennedy writes:
***A fast and preventable way that you can loose status/attraction with a girl you already have it with is to be out alfa’d by another guy or group of guys. Here’s a few ways I’ve come up with or read, to ensure this doesn’t happen to me.1) Body Language. May seem obvious, but I concentrate on taking up even more space than I usually do, which is a lot. I take a super-wide stance like some CEO talking to his line workers. Ill only use hand gestures that indicate power and draw attention while I’m speaking. I typically use a lot of pointing but with my whole hand which encourages approval from the group even if they don’t agree.
2) Communication. Look directly into every guy’s eye that is in the group every time you speak. If you hold it for a longer amount of time than is comfortable for a typical social setting and it gets to be a tuff guy starring contest, give a little smirk and nod like the two of you are agreeing on something and 90% of the time the guy will smile/smirk back. Talk as loud and deep as you can while maintaining a comfortable delivery. Lastly, don’t ever let anyone interrupt you, but if you feel like it, interrupt one of them. When someone tries to interrupt you either stop and say excuse me, and correct their mistake or just talk over them. What you have to say is far more important than anything any of them can possibly have to say.
3) Intent. When you’re trying to impress people, it shows whether you think it does or not. Don’t worry about if what you have to say is going to make a good impression, just say it like its 100% true and agreed upon regardless. Don’t agree with anything the other guy/s have to say unless you actually do.
- Finally, the quickest thing you can do to indicate superiority over a guy is to pat him on the shoulder while you’re speaking. In a group, pick the ring-leader and do it to him while you’re saying something funny. This will help put you not only above him, but also his boys. Watch out though, unless your completely congruent with this and also use total alfa attitude, you may piss guys off, especially if their alfa themselves.
